Meghan Markle shows she's a good sport as woman calls her 'fat lady' and the Duchess takes it with a laugh
Meghan Markle proved that she is a good sport and can take a joke just like any other person, while she was out on an official royal outing on Wednesday, January 16.
The Duchess of Sussex was seen visiting the Mayhew animal charity in North London while on her first public visit to her new patronage. Meghan was spotted sharing plenty of laughs at the event with many ladies who spoke and discussed the importance of therapy animals.
One woman told Meghan, "Lovely lady, you are! May the good Lord always bless you. And you're a fat lady!" Meghan being a good sport cracked up at the comment and responded saying, "I'll take it!"
Meghan was seen wearing a gorgeous cream H&M 'Mama' maternity dress and an Armani coat as she stepped out on a rainy day. She finished off the stunning look with a pair of cream colored matching stiletto heels and chose to leave her hair loose over her shoulders.
It was only last week that Kensington Palace named Mayhew as one of Meghan's official patronages as she has a passion for animal welfare. The Duchess had been holding private meetings with volunteers for the organization over the past year.
The Duchess of Sussex recently revealed to well-wishers earlier this week that she was six months pregnant with Prince Harry's baby. She will be due in late April to early May.
Earlier on the same day, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton stepped out at the Royal Opera House and met with costume designers and principal dancers of the Royal Ballet. She was seen wearing a royal purple Oscar de la Renta two-piece skirt suit for the event just a day after she sported an all casual look at King Henry’s Walk Garden in Islington, London.
The Duchess of Cambridge recently celebrated her 37th birthday and had a small lunch last weekend. Her brother-in-law Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were not able to attend the birthday lunch. A source told ET, "Harry has not attended every birthday celebration."
"Kate and William have a close group of friends called the 'Turnip Toffs' based near their Anmer Hall home and they spend as much time there when their work in London allows," the source added.
