Here's why Meghan Markle and Ivanka Trump's sense of fashion is remarkably similar
Meghan Markle is well known for her chic and low key but bold fashion choices. Soon after she stepped down as a senior member of the royal family and set base in America, eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Meghan's fashion and style are very similar to first daughter Ivanka Trump.
The two have been seen wearing quite a few similar outfits on a number of occasions, royal fashion blogger @royalreplimeghan pointed out.
It is believed that the iconic black Halo dress that Meghan wore to the Royal Aeronautical Society in London in 2018 and which immediately become a bestseller at the time, had been worn by Ivanka for another event. The pair also own the same Emilia Wickstead button-up dress. They have also been seen wearing the same Philip Treacy hat that Meghan had chosen to wear for the 2019 Remembrance Day service.
It is believed that the similar fashion sense may have be the product of their friendship with designer Misha Nonoo, whose wedding in September 2019 was attended by both.
They have also been seen wearing Nonoo's 'Audrey' pleated skirt on different occasions. Meghan's 2017 Vanity Fair outfit -- a Carolina Herrera tiered gown -- was also sported by Ivanka. Mandy Moore was also seen sporting the same gown at the time.
Ivanka has also worn some pieces that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has been see wearing - a green Beulah dress and a collared Alessandra Rich dress.
Recently, Ivanka was seen sporting a sleek new hairstyle while visiting Bogota, Columbia before the coronavirus lockdown. She was seen sporting a double-breasted suit dress that fell above the knees. The dress featured large pleats and was cinched around the waist. The v-neck dress seemed to be the perfect balance between youth and power. It was also similar to the blazers worn by her father, POTUS Donald Trump.
She is currently in isolation with her family- husband Jared Kushner and Arabella, 8, Joseph, 6, and Theodore, 3. Meghan Markle, on the other hand, has currently settled down in LA, California along with her husband Prince Harry and baby son, Archie.
Harry and Meghan made headlines in January when they announced their bombshell decision to step down as senior members of the royal family. We had previously shared that the couple decided to settle down in the USA with insiders claiming that the reason behind the move was that they did not want to pay tax in two countries.
It was also reported that tax from earning money and keeping up residences in two countries was the reason behind the move, The Sun had shared. A source shared, "Initially Harry and Meghan wanted to be based in a Commonwealth country — Canada — and earn their own money while still performing some royal duties."
"They were told getting work visas in Canada would be difficult and because Meghan remains a US citizen, so is taxed on her worldwide income, she would end up paying in the US and Canada. Then the Canadian government made it clear they would not contribute to their security costs so it made much more sense to live in Hollywood and only pay US tax," the source added.
