Meghan King revealed that her 4-year-old son Hart had encountered some 'roadblocks' in the restroom and asked her almost 1 million Instagram followers for potty-training help. The ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star explained how Hart’s cerebral palsy affects his muscles but noted there are other side effects people don’t talk about as much, like how the toddler is almost in school and has yet to be potty-trained.

King said in a 2-minute video, “I think for Hart it’s because of his sensory issues. Initially, I didn’t think he had the sensation of ‘the go,’ but now I know he has it; he’s just afraid of the toilet. He knows when he has to go, he can hold it. When I put his swim trunks and I tell him, ‘Don’t poop in your swim trunks,’ he won’t. He will save his poop to go poop in his pull-up when I put it on for his nap or at bedtime.”

Meghan claimed that she has personally tried to bribe the child with toys, candy, and even a cat, but nothing seems to work. After everything failed, she tried getting Hart a toilet attachment that would help with his balance issues, only to be met once again with resistance. The lifestyle influencer said, “My pediatrician told me today to just keep him naked around the house. I’ve tried that, and he’s peed on the floor. She said that I should, you know, make him clean it up.”

Meghan's video post quickly attracted the attention of parents who shared their two cents in the comments section.

"Have you tried putting cheerios in the toilet? That's how I taught my Son and he had fun trying to hit them,” one suggested. "Have you tried/thought about getting one of the little kid toilets?" a fan advised.

"If he's scared maybe start small and work your way up to the big toilet. Sensory stuff is so hard, my son didn't struggle with potty training but in other areas, we still struggle,” another added.

Another fan wrote, “Another mom told me to put food coloring in the toilet (blue and his pee will make it turn green) or (red and his pee will make it turn orange) kind of like magic tricks…I never did that, but I thought it was pretty genius.” “Try a ‘potty watch’ my Autistic son absolutely loved his! He was also afraid of the potty and flushing noises😉,” yet another person remarked.

Meanwhile, in June 2018, King welcomed Hart and his identical twin, Hayes, along with her ex-husband Jim Edmonds. She has had to deal with the challenges of being a single mother ever since the couple's contentious divorce in May 2021. The former couple also shares a 5-year-old daughter Aspen.
