Megan Thee Stallion returns with live virtual show after being shot on foot, excited fans say 'legend is back'
Sensational singer and rapper Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, known by her stage name Megan Thee Stallion, performed at a virtual concert on Saturday, August 29, 2020. Megan called it her "first day back" as she returned for her fans after almost two months since she was shot on her foot in Los Angeles in July.
The rapper performed an energetic hour-long set that had the best of her music and several of her guest verses. She frequently encouraged her fans to turn up with her from home. "I need all my hotties to stand up, wherever you’re at and shake that ass," she said. Instead of fans joining Megan on stage, each of her six dancers took some solo time in the spotlight. The ticket for the virtual show was priced at 15$.
Megan was in the news in July after she accused another rapper of shooting her on the feet in Los Angeles. The artiste took to Instagram to declare that she had her feet injured. In a series of live Instagram videos on Thursday, August 20, Megan told rapper Tory Lanez, “You shot me.” Popular Instagram page, The Shade Room, shared the video of Megan saying that she was shot for no reason and she accused Lanez's team of lying on his behalf. Lanez was later charged with carrying a concealed weapon. According to a BBC report, Megan claimed that she had feared it would create more trouble if she said a gun was involved in the incident. So she told the police that she'd stepped on broken glass instead of being shot. In the Instagram post, Megan said, "I didn't tell the police nothing, because I didn't want us to get in no more trouble than we was about to get in." She also spoke about being called a "snitch" online and also denied claims that she had hit Lanez before the shooting.
As soon as Megan's virtual live performance started, people poured in love for the 25-year-old rapper. One user commented, "I love this woman with my whole being we truly need to take a moment to thank her that even through her own violent trauma that people mocked her about, she’s taking time to honor others who didn’t survive. #BlackLivesMatter #MeganTheeStallionLive." Another fan commented, "@TheeStallion you served us an AMAZING performance! Female Rappers aren't really known for giving outstanding performances and I'm so glad you're playing a part in breaking down those barriers."

Previously, Megan supported the Black Lives Matter protests in the US and also around the world. She called it "part two of the civil rights movement". “Sometimes being a public figure, you don’t wanna say the wrong thing because you don’t want to be insensitive to people or get too opinionated,” she told NME during a new Big Read cover interview. “But I will always say what I feel. I don’t speak on things that I don’t know about, and I won’t speak on things I don’t believe in," she added. Megan was also in the news after she hit the streets of West Hollywood on June 14 during a joint Black Lives Matter and Pride protest, seeking the rights and safety of African Americans and the LGBTQ+ community. The artiste also said that she was planning to write a song about the Black Lives Matter movement.
