It looks like soccer star Megan Rapinoe is all ready to take up a new role!

The two-time World Cup Champion took to her Instagram Live with Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his wife Jill on Thursday, April 30. During the Instagram Live, Rapinoe herself offered to become Biden's vice president.

"I don’t want to put you on the spot — I think I could still play soccer and do this. But if you need a vice president, I’m just saying I’m available for an interview. We can talk logistics and the details. Put it on your list," Megan shared before adding "No pressure."

Jill had even dyed her hair purple in honor of Rapinoe's signature World Cup look and said she would "love" that. The former vice president laughed and shared that his granddaughter Maisy, who played soccer in high school and had even attended the 2015 World Cup, would love it too.

He did warn Megan that being vice president would mean a pay cut to which she responded saying, "You know I’m not into that," while referring to the US women's ongoing battle with US soccer to ensure that women are made equally.

The US women are suing the federation for gender discrimination and have alleged that they are paid significantly less than the men's team. The trial had been due to start on Tuesday but has been postponed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Rapinoe had earlier been a supporter of Elizabeth Warren until the senator dropped out of the presidential race. Since then, she has been supporting Biden. The two spent a large part of their 40 minutes Instagram Live video discussing how his administration would deal with student loan debt, health care, and other progressive initiatives

In the past, Rapinoe has been openly critical of POTUS Donald Trump and has highlighted his discriminatory policies towards people of color and the LGBTQ community. Before the World Cup, Rapinoe had famously shared that she would not visit the White House if they won.

When Biden showed her a photograph of his family at the 2015 final, Rapinoe jokingly revealed, "I wanted to go to THAT White House." Towards the end of their conversation, Rapinoe shared, "I hope people are inspired and motivated to get involved in this election moving forward."

"I think that there is a candidate in you that is looking to bring people together and there’s a candidate whose sole purpose is to divide us so he can stand on top of us both," she continued.

We had earlier reported that Rapinoe praised and complimented Raheem Sterling for persisting in his fight against racism. Rapinoe also encouraged many leading footballers and coaches to try and use their platform as global stars to "change the world for better" as she was named The Best FIFA Women's Player of the Year on September 23 last year.

She beat her teammate Alex Morgan and England footballer Lucy Bronze. During the USA World Cup, Rapinoe received both the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball for being the top scorer and the best player.
