Megan Rapinoe called 'loser' for comparing herself to Trump saying 'wild a** s**t'

In a shocking twist, women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe has compared herself to longtime 'foe' Donald Trump, saying both of them talk some "wild a** s**t". Of course, Rapinoe quickly iterated that in her case, the wild things she says in public are for the good, but it's shocking nonetheless considering how vehemently and openly she and Trump have expressed their distaste for each other.

Rapinoe, who was recently criticized by the former president after the US lost in the Olympic semi-finals to Canada, has previously dissed Trump saying she would never visit the White House under his administration. With just months into Joe Biden's presidency, both Rapinoe and her fiance Sue Bird visited the White House to discuss women's pay equality and more recently. The POTUS also earned severe flak for calling Rapinoe America's 'best'. Even Subway franchisees have complained about Rapinoe endorsing their product after she carried on her demonstrations at games by kneeling to the American national anthem, but nothing strikes as shocking aftr this new comparison she made.

Rapinoe made the proclamations during the premiere of the HBO and CNN-produced documentary 'LGF', on Monday, September 7. “I am who I am all the time,” Rapinoe said, adding: "It’s not like some act. I mean, I don’t know if I want to make this comparison, but in the same ways that people liked that Trump just said some wild a** s**t, but, like, I’m like that, but for good. You know? And like, we need more of that."

Rapinoe has been notorious among Conservatives for her protests against the American national anthem. “I’ll probably never put my hand over my heart, I’ll probably never sing the national anthem again," she had said in May 2019. Later that year, when asked if she would visit the White House following their potential win at the then-scheduled 2020 Olympics, Rapinoe had bluntly responded: "I’m not going to the f**king White House. No. I’m not going to the White House. We’re not going to be invited… I doubt it.”

Retorting to her jabs, Trump had posted several tweets dissing Rapinoe. “I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job!” he wrote, adding: "We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose. Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!”

Trump also wasted no time in slamming Rapinoe after the US failed to secure a gold medal at the Olympics this year. “If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze,” Trump tweeted, adding: "They should replace the wokesters with Patriots and start winning again. The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job!” he added, a direct reference to Rapinoe.

So for Rapinoe to actually compare herself to her public enemy has seemed odd to many. Reacting to her claiming both she and Trump are in the habit of talking wild 's**t', one Twitter wrote: "Only his still made more sense and he didn’t hate our country." Another declared: "No comparison ⁦@mPinoe He is a much much better and truthful person". Others argued: "News flash sorry @mPinoe But Americans love Pres. Trump, you don't hold your breath - Trump will be remembered in history as a great POTUS... You won't be remembered at all".  Another wrote to the soccer star: "Don't ever compare your anti-American self to Trump. He doesn't spread false narratives." And one tweeted: "SORRY MEGAN...YOU'RE A LOSER!"
