LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meg Ryan has been living her life away from the spotlight lately. However, the ‘City of Angels’ star posted a photo of herself on her Instagram page recently, leaving her fans delighted. The picture showed her getting ready while stylists worked on her.

The 61-year-old actress captioned the photo, “It takes a village.” The post received more than 15,000 likes and a plethora of comments. A fan said, “ Oooooo - Meg Ryan getting dolled up for something exciting.” A second fan wrote, “Please be in something soon! We miss you!!”

A third commented, “Love me some Meg Ryan!! Miss you on the big screen! I adore every movie you're in.” A fourth, “That's a coincidence. Just watching a documentary about your work on Sky Arts. Miss you.” “The woman that since I was a child I fell in love and always wanted to meet. you are naturally beautiful,” a fifth one added.

‘She was beautiful in the 1990s’

However, the praises for the iconic actress came after she was slammed for looking old and undergoing plastic surgery when she attended Michael J Fox's documentary screening in May. A user tweeted, “I'd never know this is Meg Ryan if they hadn't said who's in the photo with Michael J Fox, plastic surgery has ruined her looks, she looks hideous.” Another user remarked, “So sad. She was beautiful in the 1990s. Girl next door type looks.”

The third one said, “I don't understand why good-looking people do this. If they have a disfigurement I get that! Very sad to see.” “Plastic surgery just doesn’t work for some if it’s because of it, leave it alone and age gracefully,” a fourth user mentioned.

‘You’re old, ladies! Move forward’

Another person tweeted, “What happened with megs face? Thought that was mickey Rourke for a second.” Another tweet read, “We'll never see that iconic face again, it's gone.” “Grow old gracefully, ladies! It’s a privilege to be given many years. Own it. She and Madonna need to stop thinking that they can keep that youthful glow! You’re old, ladies! Move forward,” another comment stated.

We believe it’s a look at life and love that audiences the world over will relate to and hunger for in these uncertain times when connection and reconciliation feel more important than ever.”
