Many of Matthew Perry's fans shared and reacted to the 'Friends' blooper on hearing the shocking news of his death

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The beloved 'Friends' actor Matthew Perry who played the character Chandler Bing on the 90s sitcom tragically died on October 28, 2023. The 54-year-old was reportedly found dead in his LA apartment after an apparent drowning incident. 

Fans of Perry and the sitcom all around the world are distraught over the news. In an effort to cheer each other up, several of them are looking back at their favorite scenes from the comedy show. 

One of the bits that was especially recalled by the fans was the one famously called the 'Pivot' scene, taking its name from the hilarious delivery by David Schwimmer as Ross Geller.

It goes without saying that 'Friends' brought great amounts of joy to its viewers with not just the funny sketches but the unmatched friendship between the characters as well as the actors. 

This had many fans mourning for Perry to recall the episode 'The One with the Cop'. In the episode, Ross goes on to purchase a new couch but asks for the help of his friends to get it to his apartment to avoid the delivery charges. 

This episode gave birth to the 'Pivot' scene in which Ross struggles to get the couch up the stairs with Chandler and Rachel. What specifically made fans recall this scene was the later revealed blooper which showed the actors sharing a big laugh at their own scene. 

Fans emotional over hilarious blooper from 'Friends' 

Many of Perry's and 'Friends' fans shared and reacted to the blooper on hearing the news of his shocking death. 

A user shared the clip on X, making many others flock to the comments with their own thoughts as well. "The only thing funnier than the famously hilarious pivot scene is the blooper take of the famously hilarious pivot scene," wrote one, paying a tribute to the iconic late actor as they added, "Matthew Perry was the best Friend of them all."

"In memory of Matthew Perry after this sad news, I want to reshare this blooper again, it will always remain my favorite of all time," another X user shared.

In response to the video, a third fan said, "My all-time favorite scene. RIP—what a terrible loss," while another one wrote, "Absolutely! The pivot scene was iconic, and the blooper reel made it even better. Matthew Perry's humor was unparalleled, and he'll always be our favorite Friend."

A fan's response to the video was, "The world has lost a comedic genius in Matthew Perry, who famously said, 'Could I BE any more legendary?"

Some others reflected on sharing special memories of the sitcom as they wrote, "Thank you for sharing this beautiful and heartfelt tribute to Matthew Perry. His passing is truly heartbreaking, and it's heartwarming to see so many people sharing their favorite memories of him."
