According to reports, José Mourinho's 24-year-old daughter is well known on the social circuit in London
José Mário dos Santos Mourinho Félix — counted among one of the greatest managers — is currently the Tottenham Hotspur head coach. A midfielder for Portugal, he first entered the sphere of management as an interpreter at Porto and assistant at Barcelona. Back in 2002, he returned to Porto as a manager. Under his coaching, the team won the Primeira Liga twice, a Taça de Portugal, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Champions League. Mourinho then moved to England with Chelsea in 2004 and after a series of successes, he joined Italian club Inter Milan and subsequently, went on to manage Real Madrid. During those years, he got the first FIFA World Coach of the Year award and became the fifth coach to have won league titles in four countries.
Named Portuguese Coach of the Century by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) in 2015, he was also the first coach to spend more than $1.2 billion (£1 billion) on transfers and is a part of much chatter on social media amid new transfers — especially Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid. As the team eyes Manchester United star Jesse Lingard now, Mourinho is getting both brickbats and bouquets from critics. Amid all the chatter on social media, here's a look at his personal life and family.
A family man
José once penned down a letter to his squad according to a feature in Guardian. "From here each practice, each game, each minute of your social life must center on the aim of being champions," Mourinho wrote. "First-teamer will not be a correct word. I need all of you. You need each other. We are a TEAM." Not just that, he also spelled out an equation at the end of the letter: "Motivation + Ambition + Team + Spirit = SUCCESS."
Devoted to both work and family, the 57-year-old once said his family is at the center of his life. He met Matilde Faria while they were both teenagers in Setubal. Nicknamed Tami, she was his childhood sweetheart and the two decided to get hitched in 1989. Married to his wife for over 30 years now, he has often emphasized on his commitment to be a good father. The couple is blessed with two children — daughter Matilde and son José Mário Jr who after struggling with ankle injury canceled his contract with Fulham by mutual consent.
In 2018, the Express quotes him as admitting: “My wife and my son and my daughter have the biggest influence on me, that’s for sure.
“And why? Because they are the bosses and control everything in the house! And in relation to my job they don’t try to influence me but at the end of the day they have a big influence because when it comes to make big decisions – where to go, where to work, when to change – on this kind of thing they have a big influence on me.”
