Married at First Sight star Shawniece Jackson has announced that she is pregnant with her first child. The news comes shortly before the Lifetime show's season six finale where the viewers will see what happens between Jackson and her husband Jephte Pierre.

As reported by PEOPLE, "When I found out I was pregnant, I was absolutely shocked. I was in the emergency room because I felt awful and had no idea what was wrong. They came back and told me all my symptoms were from pregnancy and that I was pregnant. I was totally shocked," Shawniece said.

The news of the baby came as a surprise and Jackson is fully embracing her role as a mother. "I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I’ve always felt like that’s my purpose in life — to recreate some little Shawnieces in life. I think it’s the greatest gift a woman can have. Life is a beautiful thing!"

Over the past couple of months, fans have seen 29-year-old Jackson and her husband Jephte Pierre whom she met for the first time when she walked down the aisle on their wedding day go through the ups and downs of marriage. The season six finale episode will reveal whether they will choose to remain together or not.

Earlier in the season, the couple was seen arguing about the names of their future children. "Maybe if we have a son I’m gonna name him Jackson Pierre," Shawniece joked.

The newly-wed couple is already parents to a dog named Keke. Pierre had decided to surprise his wife with the pup after a particularly heated argument.

One such argument which took place on their way home from a trip was meant to make them closer. "When I tried to talk to you earlier you didn’t want to pay me no attention," said Jackson. "When I tried to talk to you earlier you didn’t want to pay me no attention," said Pierre in response.

Only the finale will tell whether they will remain together.
