Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson slammed for being centrist yet endorsing Biden, Fox News' Mark Levin labels him 'clown'
After actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson endorsed Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris, even holding a Zoom conference with the pair, Fox News host Mark Levin slammed the former professional wrestler for throwing his support behind the liberal pick despite being a centrist.
"As a political independent & centrist, I’ve voted for both parties in the past. In this critical presidential election, I’m endorsing @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris. Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, KINDNESS & RESPECT. We must ALL VOTE," Johnson tweeted on Sunday, September 27. Reacting to the 'Jumanji' star's post, Levin wrote in multiple tweets on Monday, “By the way, to show you what a clown ‘the Rock’ truly is, he says he’s a centrist and Independent, yet he’s effusive in his support for Kamala Harris, who’s the most leftwing senator in the Senate (left of Sanders!), and was the most vicious and vile hack of the bunch during Brett Kavanaugh‘s confirmation hearings. This should make you even more active in re-electing President Trump."

Many of Levin's conservative followers were as outraged against Johnson as the news anchor was. Some of them wanted to know why the actor would not endorse the president instead. "Maybe as a centrist @TheRock can answer this. Other than 'Orange Man Bad', what policy has @realDonaldTrump done that is so bad? Justice Reform? HBC funding? Opportunity Zones? Historical now unemployment for Latinos, African-Americans, Women and others? Where has he gone wrong?" one person wrote while another said, "Worse, these fools are supposedly into the Green new Deal because of 'Global Warming'; yet the Rock flies around the world on a $65M private jet = he's one of the worst offenders on earth when it comes to emissions and damaging the planet." One of the users quipped, "But I think 'the Rock' is only looking out for 'numero uno', in that if he endorsed Trump, all his movie and TV gigs would be gone and he'd be blacklisted by the entertainment industry. That makes him not just a clown, but a coward too." Then some other user added, "OMG, this BS! Was this a therapy session? I want a leader not a therapist. Sounds like the Rock is still grieving. I'm sorry for his loss. Obviously, he has not fact-checked anything on either candidate." Additionally, another tweeted, "The Rock is an opportunistic media pimp - he sees that this is the year the Dems are going to lose- next cycle will restructure. He wants to be the new 'moderate', young, popular face of the Dem party 2024. Just planting the seeds early. #Trump2020"

Then there were those who did not believe that Johnson's vote or opinion mattered that much when it comes to the 2020 election. "The Rock can vote for whoever he wants. When you have money (and I respect that he earned it), current election issues will not really affect his personal life. So it becomes a 'feel good' reaction, many wealthy have it. I hold no resentment for personal wealth. Speaking out, yes," one commented while another wrote, "Everyday before the decision of President I wake up, confused ,what should I do, who do I vote for , I sit there thinking ,I'm not making a choice until I hear from the Rock." One person said, "To me, it's sad to think that there are people who are waiting to decide who to vote for based on what the Rock says. #Idiocracy"
