'If I pass away...': Mama June’s daughter Anna Cardwell's cryptic post amid cancer battle sparks concern
MILLEDGEVILLE, GEORGIA: Mama June's daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell has shared a poignant letter with her admirers as she battles cancer. In January, Anna was diagnosed with Stage 4 adrenal cancer.
Mama June's daughter requested a special favor from her followers in an Instagram Story. She asked her fans to send her two children, Kylee Madison Cardwell, 7, and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Shannon, 10, a nice note.
The 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' star wrote in her story, "If I pass away unexpectedly, remind my kids every time you see them how much I love them, and how I would do anything in this world for them." Anna concluded, "This is all I want."
Anna Cardwell’s pain gets 'better’ following terminal cancer diagnosis
After Mama June revealed Anna's cancer diagnosis, the family provided a favorable update on the reality star's health.
The 29-year-old was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January, but her treatment has now been discontinued after physicians determined that her disease was fatal.
Anna had a "rough" time with chemotherapy, according to Mama June, and had been sleeping a lot. The mother of two is no longer getting the excruciating therapy, according to the family, and is "doing a little bit better."
"She’s been able to still go to the grocery store and still do everyday things, which is actually pretty much a blessing ’cause I know most people at stage four and stuff physically [can’t]," sister Lauryn Efird told People.
She was diagnosed with adrenal carcinoma after experiencing stomach problems, but it had also spread to her lungs, liver, and kidneys.
Anna looks to be doing well, as she released a short video on TikTok of herself tasting some food. She was perky and outgoing as she assessed the goodies, while wearing a pink turban, prompting admirers to leave well wishes in the comments.
Lauren also mentioned that chemo didn't bother her as poorly. "When people think chemo and things like that, they think older people, and instantly, I feel like it makes them sicker. For her, I feel like it’s helped her. She said her pain is 'getting better.'"
Mama June stated that the children were "aware" of Anna's condition, but Kaylee was "too young to really comprehend’ what was happening."
Kaitlyn, she said, has grown "clingy" because her mother is ill, and she admitted to Entertainment Tonight, "For me, it’s an emotional rollercoaster sometimes. Mentally, it’s always on my mind."
What is Anna Cardwell's job?
Following breast augmentation surgery, the former reality star opened out about her profession in April 2020. "I’m a stocker at Walmart. I basically lift up heavy stuff and put it on shelf, and reaching from the top shelf," she said to HollywoodLife at the time.
She added, "I went to work probably a week after being at home [from surgery]. I slept most of the time I was home, because I was off for a little while. Then, I went back to work."
She continued, saying she was "scared to go to work" since she still had sutures and wasn't totally healed.
"I was scared that something’s going to pop out, but nothing did. I finally took my tape off, probably about a couple of weeks after being home," she continued.
She added, "My work knew about it. I told them exactly what was going on. They put me on small stuff, like cleaning the shelves off, binning everything."
While it's unknown how much Anna was paid for her stock position, the average compensation for an associate in Georgia is $15.95 per hour, according to Walmart's corporate website.
However, it appears that Anna has changed careers in the years since.
"Looking to trade or upgrade and just get something," the 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' star posted in March 2022 on Facebook, "I will be your girl if you’re looking for pre-owned or brand spanking new."
Anna works as a saleswoman at Five Star Toyota in Milledgeville, according to her unconfirmed profile.
