NikkieTutorials YouTuber Nikkie de Jager robbed at gunpoint during home burglary, says she’s mentally affected
On Saturday, August 8, Dutch makeup artist and beauty vlogger Nikkie de Jager, known for her YouTube channel called NikkieTutorials, wrote on Instagram that she got robbed at gunpoint at her home, a country house in Pnemstraat in Uden, a municipality and a town in the province of Noord-Brabant, Netherlands.
She wrote on Instagram, “Earlier today, one of my biggest nightmares became reality when we got robbed under gunpoint at our own home." She further said that she and her fiancé, Dylan Drossaers were physically fine.
“Dylan and myself got attacked but physically we’re okay,” she wrote. “Mentally, it’s a whole other story.” She further said, “I am writing this message for now to let you know that we are ‘okay’ and safe. Thank you for understanding as I take the next couple of days for myself.”
The Sun reported some hours before the Instagram post that de Jager's home had been targeted by a gang of armed burglars, and that one resident had reportedly been injured. According to the same report, local police confirmed the news in a tweet that read: “The perpetrators threatened the residents with possibly a firearm and took an unknown loot from them. There are at least three perpetrators who fled in a beige car towards the A50.” A50 is a motorway.

According to a Dutch website, the police said that the robbery took place at around 4 pm, on August 8, and that they were of medium complexion and were wearing hoodies. Their car’s windows are reportedly tinted. Cops asked anyone with any information or anyone who saw the car to not take action themselves, but to call the emergency number.
The 26-year-old transgender YouTuber gained online popularity in 2015 after her YouTube video ‘The Power of Makeup’ became popular and inspired many other videos of people showing their faces with and without makeup. NikkieTutorials, right now, has more than 13.5 million subscribers. She reportedly paid 645,000 euros for her house, where she got robbed, even though the asking price was almost one million euros.
In December 2019, she collaborated with Lady Gaga, promoting and giving away her makeup brand Haus Laboratories. In June this year, de Jager announced on her YouTube channel that she will be the Dutch ambassador of the United Nations (UN). "I am going to promote the goals of the UN in the Netherlands", said 26-year-old De Jager. "I do that here on my platform to make sure that the population becomes aware of international cooperation and the establishment of international legal order. It will be very chic."
She said that during her ambassadorship, she will focus on gender equality and reduced inequalities. "These two goals are dear to me and I feel that I can really work on these two goals and bring about change. What I want to do as an ambassador is speak up and make people aware of the problems that exist."
