Magen Fieramusca: Texas woman who killed 'close friend' Heidi Broussard in 2019 and STOLE her baby gets 55 years
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Magen Fieramusca was charged in 2019 with killing a close friend who had recently given birth and stealing the baby in an elaborate plan to pass the child off as her own. The Texas native pleaded guilty to murder charges on Thursday, February 2.
Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza said in a statement that Fieramusca, 37, had been given a 55-year prison sentence for the killing of Heidi Broussard, 33. Fieramusca decided against exercising her right to appeal. The conviction stems from a crime that occurred in Austin, Texas, and started with the disappearance of a 3-week-old newborn girl. As the investigation progressed and authorities narrowed in on Fieramusca, there was growing interest in the case. Authorities claimed that Broussard's body and the child were later discovered together in the trunk of Fieramusca's car at a house in the Houston region.

A police arrest complaint stated that on December 12, 2019, Fieramusca abducted Broussard and stuffed her in a black duffel, as reported by Click Orlando. Broussard had last been spotted dropping off an older child at an elementary school in Austin. Her death was determined to be a strangling homicide.
Margot Carey, the baby, was handed back to her father. Garza stated, "We are hopeful that this outcome will bring some closure to the Broussard and Carey families and help them continue their healing process," as reported by Click Orlando.
When did Heidi Broussard first meet Magen Fieramusca?
Heidi Broussard first met Magen Fieramusca at a church camp around ten years ago, according to court documents. The two got along right away and quickly grew to be very close friends. As a result of their friendship, Fieramusca was given the apartment key for Broussard. The two women even talked about becoming pregnant together and considered that they would give birth on the same day at one point, according to the court file.
Investigators learned from Broussard's fiance that she informed him on December 8 or 9 that Fieramusca had given birth to a baby girl, but he never saw any pictures of the baby. On the day Broussard was kidnapped, Fieramusca claimed to a Texas Ranger that she went to the beach with a cousin. However, the affidavit claims that she eventually admitted to the same officer that she had given birth on that day even though she was unable to give details about her delivery.
