'MAFS' Season 14: Lindsey dubbed a 'Karen' for calling Olajuwon aggressive

A seemingly small argument snowballed and now, fans are calling out Lindsey for her Karen-like behavior

For the couples of 'Married At First Sight', going to the same destination for their honeymoon implies that the couples will be interacting at various points. From group meals to activities, it is a staple segment of the show and allows the couples to create friendships, some which often last beyond the show. However, it also allows for enough friction between people and looks like Season 14 already has some drama. 

Lindsey has made it pretty clear thus far that her personality is larger than life and that it can certainly rub people the wrong way. Turns out, on the way to the honeymoon, a conversation between her and Olajuwon took a turn for the worse when Lindsey insisted that they all talk in Spanish. This conversation snowballed into an argument, which even promoted Lindsey and Mark to take a separate bus to the hotel.

While the rest of the couples gathered to enjoy a few drinks, Lindsey stayed back in her room, in order to calm down. During this time, she narrated her side of the story mentioning that she and Olujawon didn't get along due to the conversation that they had and even made a comment about him being defensive and puffing out his chest in a confrontational manner. She stated that this made her feel threatened, but she was thankful that Mark was on her side and helped her calm down. Fans were not thrilled with her choice of words and called her out on it. 

"If he threatened her or got "aggressive" ( Karen talk for black person talked back to me). . And of course she felt uncomfortable because he was 'aggressive' #MarriedAtFirstSight #MAFS" added another. "Then Karen, I mean Lindsey sitting in the room while Mark drinking and apologizing for her weird ass behavior #MAFSBoston #MAFS" tweeted a fan.

Meanwhile, Mark spoke to Olajuwon and Katina and apologized for Lindsey's behavior. He was focused on moving past this and the couple appreciated his efforts, even though Katina admitted it would be best if she didn't spend too much time around Lindsey. Fans were glad Mark was ready to smooth things over and just also believed that Lindsey needed to do so as well.
