What is MacKenzie Scott's net worth? Jeff Bezos' ex donates $2.7B to 286 causes
Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos' ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, the billionaire philanthropist, who is known for her impromptu multi-billion dollar donations to charities is in the news for her philanthropic spree once again. Scott announced on June 15 that she has donated $2.7 billion to 286 organizations. This is Scott's third round of philanthropic announcements in under a year. In 2020, she made two similar announcements where she donated about $6 billion to COVID relief, gender equity, historically Black colleges and universities, and other schools.
Scott wrote in a Medium post that she made the donations to enable the organizations to continue their work and as a "signal of trust and encouragement" to them and others. She mentioned in her announcement that she is troubled by the 'increasing concentration of wealth among a small proportion of individuals.' Scott further said that she worked with a team of researchers and philanthropy advisors "to give away a fortune that was enabled by systems in need of change." Having made several multi-billion donations since her split from Amazon founder, Bezos, here's all you need to know about Scott's net worth.

Among them is Brazosport College in Lake Jackson and Project Row Houses, a non-profit arts community in Houston's Third Ward. San Jacinto College in Pasadena will also receive $30 million from Scott, the largest private gift in the college's history. In Scott's blog post, she explained that she looked for "2- and 4-year institutions successfully educating students who come from communities that have been chronically underserved." She wrote, "In this effort, we are governed by a humbling belief that it would be better if disproportionate wealth were not concentrated in a small number of hands and that the solutions are best designed and implemented by others."
