Netflix 'Love is Blind' S2: Deepti rejects Shake at the altar, says 'he doesn’t deserve me'
Is love really blind? Before joining Netflix's reality dating show/ social experiment 'Love is Blind', 30-year-old Information Analyst Deepti Vempati was convinced that love was blind. But by the end of the experiment, Deepti changed her mind and realized that love isn't always blind, this realization prompted her to ditch Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee at the altar on the day of their wedding and declare that she was going to "choose herself" and thus say no to him.

Despite getting off on the wrong foot during their initial interactions in the pods, Shake and Deepti fell in love with each other and were keen on giving their relationship a shot. So when Shake proposed to Deepti, she was beyond ecstatic and immediately accepted his proposal. When the duo first met each other in person, they both fell head-over-heels in love with each other all over again. Shake was so awestruck by Deepti's beauty that he declared he couldn't wait to marry and have babies with her. Unfortunately, while Deepti's feelings for Shake continued to grow with each passing day, the 33-year-old veterinarian/ DJ found himself not feeling physically attracted to her.

The lack of physical attraction and intimacy proved to be a huge barrier for Shake to get past. He complained to everybody about how Deepti was the perfect partner for him yet he wasn't attracted to her physically. He even went on to compare Deepti to his aunt. Just a few days before their wedding, Shake subtly tried to explain to Deepti about his situation of not being attracted to her and thus pushing her away. When Deepti realized that Shake was having second thoughts about her and their relationship, she was surprised but didn't say anything to him until the day of their wedding.
While standing at the altar, when Deepti was asked if she was ready to marry Shake, she politely declined. She explained, "I’m choosing myself and I am gonna say no. He’s not the one for me, if he was he would make me feel like I was the one, and he never did that." Shake looked surprised by Deepti's decision but took it pretty well. While admitting that a part of him was upset, he dubbed the whole situation as "positive". He consoled himself by stating that Deepti would have said yes to him if he had said yes, and even felt relieved that at least he didn't have to be the one to reject her.
Despite how things went down between them, Shake was determined to continue being friends with Deepti and even hoped for the best for her. Though things didn't work out with Deepti, Shake still appears to be optimistic about finding love as he could be heard saying that there's someone out there for him. On the other hand, Deepti declared that she had no "f***ing regrets" over any of her actions, and said she too would find her person, before adding that it definitely wasn't Shake. She concluded by saying he didn't deserve her.
