Why did Salvador decide against marrying Mallory?

As mentioned above, Salvador and Mallory had to go through a lot to make their relationship work. It all began when Salvador suspected that Mallory might still be interested in Jarrette Jones. Prior to his proposal, Jarrette had proposed to Mallory, and she turned him down to be with Salvador. But after Salvador and Mallory met for the first time, he couldn't help but notice that she seemed a bit distant and wary of him. However, later Mallory warmed up to him and explained to him that she had a hard time letting people in. Later when Jarrette saw Mallory for the first time, he approached her and began flirting with her. Mallory was so overwhelmed that she ended up blurting out that she wasn't necessarily looking forward to getting married to Salvador.

When Salvador heard that, he was left feeling upset. He confronted her about it, and Mallory assured him that she didn't have any feelings for Jarrette. But that was just the beginning of their many problems. The couple ended up getting into another huge fight when one of Salvador's ex-girlfriends ended up crashing at his sister's place and creating a huge fuss about him and his new relationship. This left Mallory feeling upset and like he was withholding things about his past from her. The couple once again somehow managed to clear the air and continued to be together.

The one obstacle that the couple couldn't face was when Mallory's family didn't give their blessings to the couple's relationship. Mallory's sister was very unhappy and felt that they were just rushing into marriage without knowing each other too well. Mallory's parents didn't show up on their wedding day, which hurt both Salvador and her. So when Salvador was asked if he wanted to marry Mallory, he said no, and expressed that he didn't think they were ready for it just yet. He explained in his confessional that they still had a lot of trust issues between them and that they had to learn how to set boundaries in their relationship to make it work. He also felt that without Mallory's family's approval, making their relationship work would be a challenge. Though Mallory was left feeling hurt and upset, she was still glad to go through the whole process as it made her realize that she was ready to fall in love and get married. The couple ended things on a good note, so it remains to be seen if they can manage to make things work after the show.

'Love is Blind' Season 2 is available for streaming on Netflix.
