Netizens are in a frenzy about Louis CK winning the 2022 Grammys for the Best Comedy Album. CK's comeback album 'Sincerely Louis C.K.' beat recordings by fellow comedy legends like Kevin Hart, Nate Bargatze, Lewis Black, Chelsea Handler, and Lavell Crawford to win the prestigious honor.

The comedy special was CK's first after he confessed to openly masturbating in front of a group of women without their consent in 2017. The 54-year-old comedian was not present to receive the award that has been labeled 'uncanceled' by many.

Is cancel culture real? Outrage over disgraced comedian Louis CK's new special 'Sorry'

Louis CK drops comedy special, fans say it's what they needed in these dark times: 'Totally worth it'

Award presenter and actor LeVar Burton, 65, said, "Damn, I will accept this on his behalf." Social media users were immediately fired up and condemned CK and the Recording Academy, even dragging the Will Smith-Chris Rock 'slapgate' incident into the conversation.

Another said, "Will Smith is going to end up more punished than Louis CK, you watch."

Recalling his horrifying behavior from 2017, one user said, ""forgive or forget" no i'm pretty sure people who commit multiple sex crimes usually go to jail even if they apologise"

Reflecting on how things work lately, another user stated, "so much for "cancel culture" apparently you can just do whatever you want if you're famous"

One user quipped, "Maybe next year you can give Bill Cosby a lifetime achievement award."

This user asked, "You guys are going to take this Grammy from him and ban him, though, right?"

Another claimed, "The Grammys just let us all know they they don’t give af about the safety of victims of sexual misconduct otherwise they’d never have nominated him"

In a 2017 statement, CK had said, "At the time, I said to myself that what I did was OK because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true. But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn't a question. It's a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly."

Four years after the controversy, CK is back on stage and is planning tours. As per his official website, he will spend May and June touring some European countries. It is reported that some shows have already sold out.
