Loren Gray: What’s the secret behind pop star's real name?
POTTSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA: It takes a lot to become a multi-talented social media influencer, Tiktok star, and singer. Loren Gray, who has amassed 54 million followers on TikTok since she started her Musicaly account in 2015, has many secrets that might be unknown to her fans.
The rising singer, who has also had her own Snapchat-based reality series called 'Honestly Loren', has a different birth name. Let's see what her real name is and why she changed it.
The secret behind Gray's real name
For professional reasons, Loren Gray chooses to go by her first and middle names rather than her last name, unlike some social media stars who decide to entirely change their names to divide their personal and work lives. She simply preferred the pairing at the time and believed Gray sounded better rather than Beech. Gray's full name is Loren Gray Beech, and she first used the moniker Loren Beech, as Seventeen has revealed.
She is a Pennsylvania native, hailing from Pottstown. When Gray once revealed a post office box address with her followers on Twitter, she made note of her last name and home in Pottstown. She shared, "A lot of people think that my last name is Gray. My middle name is Gray, and my last name is Beech. I used to hate that my middle name was Gray, and now I actually go by it because I prefer it more than Beech,” in a since-deleted YouTube video.
Had she not hit it big on Musicaly, she would be working an entirely different career, Gray once claimed. It's hard to believe but she planned on becoming a forensic anthropologist.
Why pop star left school
Loren Gray might have had a meteoric rise to social media fame, but her path hasn't been without its challenges. In 2018, Gray released a YouTube video interview where she discussed her decision to drop out of school. She explained that she left in-person schooling in part because of the bullying that she faced from her peers, saying, "School was kind of rough for me. People weren't always the nicest with what I was doing."
