'Looks like plastic': Internet trolls Kim Kardashian as she flaunts jewelry from Swarovski
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian is loving the Swarovski jewels.
On October 6, 2023, 'The Kardashians' star took to her Instagram Story and shared a video of her and a pal trying out Swarovski jewelry.
Her clothing brand Skims which features shapewear and loungewear recently did a glamorous collaboration with Swarovski. Some of the products feature old jewelry chains, meanwhile others may have jewels sewn right into the fabric.
Soon after, the Internet began sharing their views on Kim's jewelry in the comments.
One social media user wrote, "I hate these cuts. Reminds me of costume jewelry."
A Reddit user chimed in, "What are those supposed to be? it looks like plastic."
An internet user said, "I’ve seen people sell that and like that on the street."
Another person added, "They look like my Temu Christmas ornaments."
A critic noted, "Looks like they just took apart one of those ugly acrylic chandeliers and called it jewelry."
A comment read, "They look like chandeliers."
Kim Kardashian's Skims x Swarovski collection
Kim's brand Skims recently joined hands with Swarovski for a new collection. At that time, she made a big announcement on her Instagram page.
"SWAROVSKI X SKIMS 💎💎💎 a first of its kind collaboration that fuses @Swarovski’s iconic glamour with @SKIMS innovative silhouettes, resulting in a unique crystallized collection.
Launching on November 7th at 9am ET on SKIMS.COM and in select Swarovski stores," she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.
The Skims X Swarovski collection consists of two-piece sets, bodysuits, and mesh stretch dresses.
Kim Kardashian hasn't bought jewelry since 2016 Paris robbery
During the June 22 episode of 'The Kardashians,' the Skims founder revealed that she hasn't bought new jewelry since the 2016 Paris Robbery where she was held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel.
In a confessional, the mom of four said, “After I was robbed in Paris, I haven’t bought jewelry."
She further added, “I haven’t really been about wearing jewelry, because when it was taken from me — I didn’t know I was ready for that experience of what that meant but I was — I was ready to give it up.”
For those unaware, on October 3, 2016, Kim was robbed at gunpoint at the No Address Hotel during Paris Fashion Week.
Then, the masked men managed to steal jewelry worth millions of dollars including a $4 million ring.

While making an appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' in April 2017, Kim shared that her 2016 Paris Robbery completely changed her outlook on life.
At that time, she said, “It was probably no secret, you see it on the show — me being flashy — but I was definitely materialistic before."
Kim added, "Not that there’s anything bad about having things and working hard to get those things — and I’m really proud of everyone that’s around me that’s successful."
She continued, "But I’m so happy that my kids get this me. And that this is who is raising my kids. Because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore, I really don’t.”
