'Evil witch from Narnia': Marjorie Taylor Greene shredded for outfit and behavior during Biden's SOTU address

WASHINGTON , DC : Marjorie Taylor Greene is known to be a trouble magnet and on February 7, Tuesday, she proved it once again as she walked into the halls of the US Capitol wearing large furlined white coat for Joe Biden's State of the Union address (SOTU). While her choice of outfit did stick out like a sore thumb among a sea of politicians and leaders in muted colors, her behavior prior to the address and even during it was not very parliamentary.

Greene, prior to attending the State of the Union address was seen carrying a balloon, mocking the recent fiasco with the Chinese balloon hovering over American skies. She posted a tweet saying, "Just a white, innocent balloon." MTG was very active on Twitter shortly after the session as well. She called out President Biden in her tweet that read: "Joe Biden is lying to the American People." But the Internet is still very shocked by Greene's behavior and her outfit on such an occasion.

What did MTG do at the SOTU?

During the State of the Union address, Biden was loudly booed by Republicans  when he mentioned that Republicans are threatening to cut Social Security and Medicare. However, the moment became quite tensed Greene, clad in a white furry coat, started shouting "liar," directing her comments to Biden. After this, Greene also turned heads by shouting "China is spying on us." However at that point nobody seemed to be fazed by the behavior, including Biden.

After seeing Greene's clips from the SOTU address, a user tweeted, "I have a confession to make. I never paid much attention to Marjorie Taylor Greene. I just saw a news clip about her. How did this woman ever get elected? I’m serious ! There is something wrong with her like major league wrong with her! I’m stunned Horrified." Another commented, "Marjorie Taylor Greene wearing a fake fur and screaming 'liar' at the state of the union is classic second season Housewife doing a rehearsed read to try to stay on the show!"

Some users believed that regardless of the differences, a certain level of decorum was required. A user wrote, "Policy differences aside, I am absolutely disgusted at the heckling and lack of decorum at the #SOTU from people like Marjorie Taylor Greene. So disrespectful. Disagree but respect the office. That’s the damn President."

'Evil witch from Narnia'

Some users made hilarious comparisons between Greene's outfit and those of many TV characters.  Many compared Greene's outfit with to the evil witch of 'Narnia' as a user tweeted, "MTG looks like Jadis the White Witch from the Narnia movies. #sotu2023 #SOTU." Further someone wrote, "Why is Marjorie Taylor Greene dressed like she's about to give Turkish Delight to a Son of Adam?" Comparing her outfit to Family Guy's Lois's outfit, a user stated, "I can't believe Marjorie Taylor Green dressed like Lois when she became a corrupt mayor!" "Marjorie Taylor Greene delivering the 'evil figure skating mom in a lifetime movie' at the State of the Union," another user remarked.

Besides Greene's behavior, the SOTU address was quite chaotic. On several other occasions, Republicans heckled the president as he tried to speak over their shouts. He was even forced to address the rowdy, border-hungry crowd at one point while talking about the recent rise in deaths attributed to the drug fentanyl.
