Where were Meghan Markle and Harry interviewed? Here's why Gayle King's mansion was chosen by Oprah for chat
The much-talked-about interview by Oprah Winfrey of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has shattered the image of the British Royal family with allegations of racism from both Meghan and Harry and also about Meghan feeling suicidal and driven to depression by things that unfurled around her.
This also included the time when it was revealed to her that Archie will not be a prince and that he will also not receive the security detail. This conversation took place in Winfrey's best friend Gayle King's mansion, who is also reportedly taken a lot of effort in making the interview happen in the first place.

Many media reports have called her the uncredited star of the show, and she was also expected to be the first one to interview Meghan but royals reportedly put a kibosh on it. Instead, two years later, King's best friend Winfrey interviewed the two from the privacy of King's mansion. King's home is secluded and surrounded on all sides by greenery, which provided the much necessary complete privacy for Oprah's chat with Harry and Meghan.
Winfrey, Prince Harry, and Meghan were seated in the courtyard of the mansion with stone pillars on the sides. From the pictures that King had posted of her home on social media platforms, she seems to have chosen warm and neutral colors for the inside of the house with pale green accents while going with a lot of greenery outside. With a classic look, King has also seemed to have placed ornaments around the house.
In a recent episode of 'Good Morning America', King spoke about the interview and said, "Harry and Meghan are talking to Oprah. It's their first major broadcast since giving up their senior royal duties." She also added, "I've heard from reliable sources — this is Oprah talking — that it's the best interview she's ever done. So I'm curious. I think that's saying something!"
Winfrey had also said that the two-hour CBS special was one where "no subject is off-limits". Since news of the broadcast had made headlines, Meghan has also become the subject of bullying allegations. Prince Harry in the meantime was asked about the discussions preceding Archie's birth in the interview and he said, "I'm not comfortable with sharing that." He then added, "but it was right at the beginning."
Prince Harry also explained, "What will the kids look like? That was at the beginning when she wasn't going to get security when my family suggested that she might continue acting (because there wasn't going to be money for her)." He also expressed how he would have still been a part of the Royal family performing his duties if he were supported. He then stated, "I know and I'm comfortable in knowing that we did everything we could to make it work."
