Episode 2 of the Disney+ series ‘Loki’ shocked everyone in the end when the hooded figure turned out to be a female version of the master manipulator. However, many believed that it is Enchantress who has taken the form of Loki. Nevertheless, her introduction to the series has created a lot of chaos in the timeline and now the Time Variance Authority (TVA) is on the verge of a breakdown due to the recent events.

According to TVA, the mysterious hooded figure was a variant of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the variant was looking to mess up the Sacred Timeline. The female version, played by Sophie Di Martino, is called ‘Lady Loki’ and is a prominent character in Marvel Comics. But her introduction to the MCU has also posed a lot of questions.

According to YouTuber Ben Carlin, the Loki who died at the hands of Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ might not be the real one.

In a video posted on the video-sharing platform, Carlin discussed the recent episode and had a lot to say about different aspects of the show. The episode has established that the female version of Loki was able to hide from TVA by making an appearance during apocalypses. During an apocalypse, TVA would not be able to suspect anything because there will be no impact on the timeline as it will happen naturally.

The episode also indicated that Loki has the power to create an exact duplicate of himself.

According to the video, Carlin claims that Loki everyone saw getting brutally murdered by Thanos in the gritty opening sequence of ‘Infinity War’ was, in fact, a replica of the Asgardian. Well, the theory cannot be ruled out because Loki is indeed the best trickster in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and he can do anything to save himself from situations he knows he can’t win in. Another thing that he shares in the video is that the Asgardians’ spaceship getting blown up by the Space Stone might have caused cataclysmic events on the planet and might have given Loki a chance to skip and not get identified by the TVA.

Remember, the “Pompeii” destruction scene in Episode 2, Loki and Mobius (Owen Wilson) could not be traced when the volcano erupted and the entire city was wiped off. So, it is possible that when the Asgard was actually being obliterated by Thanos, he created a duplicate of himself and left the planet.
So, it might not be that difficult for Loki to change his appearance every now and then. Now, we know that the comic-book character is gender-fluid and it won’t come as a surprise that he took a form of a woman this time around.

The theory is really intriguing and might come real because Marvel has a knack for shocking fans with some insane level of twists. What do you think of the theory? Did Loki really survive in ‘Infinity War’? If he did, where was he when the Avengers were fighting the battle? You can give your views in the comments section.

'Loki' returns with a new episode every Wednesday on Disney+.
