University of Idaho massacre: Locals fear maniac who skinned neighbor's dog may have killed 4 students
MOSCOW, IDAHO: As investigators delve into the barbaric University of Idaho, residents wonder if the quadruple homicide is related to the recent skinning of a pet dog found just miles from where the students were last seen.
Four University of Idaho students, namely Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, and Ethan Chaplin, were found dead in their off-campus housing unit in Moscow, Idaho, on Sunday, Nov 13. Moscow police believe the victims were asleep when they were brutally stabbed. At least one of the victims was also found to have defensive wounds on his hands. There is no evidence of the sexual assault.

The brutal murder of the students has shaken the close-knit city of Moscow. Some local investigators even link the murders to the recent skinning of a pet dog found just two miles from where the girls were last seen. The community became aware of the incident after a man named Clint Hughes posted on Facebook that his neighbor's cute little dog had been skinned like a deer. "No animal did that. Our dog is bigger and was so scared around the same time that he tore his bed into a thousand pieces. Also, our cat has been missing for a few days."
In a local Facebook group, sleuths noted that the students are believed to be killed with a Rambo knife, which may also have been used to kill the dog according to DailyMail. However, no official links between the murders and the skinning of the dog, have been confirmed by the authorities. Online sleuths have time and again helped cops make breaks in multiple high-profile crimes, including the frantic killing of Gabby Petito.
Meanwhile, an expert cop said that the victims may have been too shocked to yell for help as they were stabbed to death in their beds. "People aren't talking when they are focused on not dying. That doesn't disturb me too much. It's not TV. You might say something at first, but then you're focused on stopping the attack." Former LAPD Detective Mark Fuhrman told Fox News Digital.
The investigation team is currently searching for the one who drove two victims, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen, 21, from the food truck to their home. As per the reports, on the night of November 12, Xana and Chapin went to a party while Mogen and Goncalves were out at a bar. Police say the victims came back home around 1.45 am and the attack took place between 3.am and 4.am.
The four young individuals were left to bleed to death inside the residence and the Moscow police have called the site one of the most horrific crime scenes they have ever seen. The case has now been entrusted to 25 investigators from the FBI, Idaho State Police, and Moscow Police Department.
