2020 Billboard Music Awards: Lizzo conquers hearts with 'Vote' outfit, trolls suggest 'dress should say diet'
Lizzo took home the award of Top Song Sales Artist at 2020 Billboard Music Awards and while accepting the award she made sure the moment remains etched in everyone’s mind for long as she stepped on the stage in a black outfit with the word ‘Vote’ written all over it. Not only this, but she also delivered a thought-provoking speech after accepting the award where she spoke about suppression and how “big black women” who refused to let their voices be suppressed.

Taking to the stage, the 32-year-old award-winning artist asserted, “If you are at home watching this and you are thinking about changing yourself to feel worthy, then this is your sign to remain true to who you are. Let me tell y'all something. When people try to suppress something, it's normally because that thing holds power. They are afraid of your power. There's power in your voice, whether it's through music, protest or your right to vote. Use your power, use your voice, and refuse to be suppressed.”
Impressed by the singer’s hard-hitting speech, one Twitter user said, “#Lizzo Fearlessly and consistently speaking truth to power!” Another individual also supported the singer’s speech and tweeted, “Flip yo hair check yo nails!! The absolute best acceptance speech of the night! Push-up on suppression like dynamite.”
One person stated, “She is such an impressive young lady. I hope her peers vote!” One fan praised Lizzo’s outfit choice and asserted, “Lizzo you look beautiful that dress is (fire).” Another trolled the singer for her dress and said, “Her dress should say DIET.”

After being postponed for several months due to the global pandemic, the 2020 Billboard Music Awards are finally here. The award ceremony is being hosted by Kelly Clarkson, who has returned to the awards stage for the third time in a row.
BBMAs will feature much-awaited performances from some of the biggest selling artists on the planet like Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, BTS, Post Malone, Doja Cat, Saint JHN, Sia and Garth Brooks among a few others. BBMAs are currently being broadcast live straight from Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on NBC and you can also livestream the coveted music award show on NBC Live. The 2020 Billboard Music Awards were first scheduled for April 29, 2020, but as mentioned earlier, it got delayed due to the unfortunate Covid-19 lockdown.
