Liz Cheney trolls Kari Lake with ‘thank you’ over Arizona loss, Internet pitches in with memes
PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Liz Cheney gives it back to Kari Lake by retweeting her letter to Liz with the caption "You're Welcome," after Kari's defeat at Arizona. “You’re welcome, @KariLake,” Cheney said in her tweet on Monday, November 14. Social media is celebrating their rivalry with funny tweets and memes.
Kari Lake, who is endorsed by Former POTUS, Donald Trump wrote an open letter to Liz Cheney 'thanking' her support for her Arizona campaign. The letter detailed how her campaign was affected by Liz Cheney's recent ad. In the ad, Liz asked Arizona Voters to vote for Democrats in the midterm elections instead of backing her party.
The letter by Kari stated, "Thank you for your generous in-kind contribution to my campaign. Your recent television ad urging Arizonans not to vote for me is doing just the opposite. Our campaign donations are skyrocketing and our website nearly crashed from traffic as people rushed to learn more about my plan to put Arizona First and join our historic political movement."
She also added, "In fact, my team tells me your commercial should add another 10 points to our lead! I guess that's why they call the Cheney anti-endorsement the gift that keeps on giving. While we appreciate your in-kind contribution, the $500,000 ad buy likely exceeds Arizona's$5,300 individual contribution limit. Thank you again for the huge boost to our campaign! Enjoy your forced retirement from politics. I know America will rest easier knowing that one more warmonger is out of office." Meanwhile, Kari was defeated by Democrats Katie Hobbs in the election.
The ad campaign of Liz against Lake cost around $500,000. In the ad, Liz says, "You have a candidate for governor, Kari Lake, you have a candidate for secretary of state, Mark Finchem, both of whom have said that they will only honor the results of an election if they agree with it. "And if you care about the survival of our Republic, we cannot give people power who will not honor elections. We must have elected officials who honor that responsibility," reported ABC News. The Internet quickly reacted to Liz's tweet. Most of them came up with creative memes to comment on Liz's response.
