'Little Fires Everywhere' releases blazing teaser starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, Hulu miniseries sets March premiere
'Little Fires Everywhere', the Hulu miniseries based on Celeste Ng's bestselling novel of the same name is all set to premiere soon. The first teaser and the official release date were released by the streaming site Friday. The makers confirmed the show will premiere March 18, 2020.
The teaser sees Kerry Washington as Mia Warren and Reese Witherspoon as Elena Richardson portrayed in an interesting manner. It speaks about the dark side that is within everyone and how it is not possible for us to ignore it, or not acknowledge it as part of yourself.
Mia's dialogue that "we all have parts that scare us. But we can't not look at who we are," rings true with the theme of the book. The book is set in the 1990s when Mia and Elena, who live in Shaker Heights, meet each other after their kids become friends.
The book began with a fire at the Richardson residence that is ruled as arson, and took readers back in the past, as it painted the picture of the neighborhood and its people. Elena moves into the neighborhood with her kids Moody, Lexie, Trip and Izzy, and Mia, an artist, lives in the same neighborhood with her daughter Pearl.
Moody and Pearly become really good friends and Pearl begins to spend a lot of time at the Richardson residence. While Moody is crushing on Pearl, she has developed feelings for his brother Trip.
How the members of these families get mixed up with each other and the circumstances that bring them closer is fascinating and the same will be captured as a part of the show. The show also gives a nod to the arson that we read about in the book, in the teaser. We see a life-size collage of Elena lit up and it burns.
The show also stars Rosemarie DeWitt as Linda McCullough, Joshua Jackson as Bill Richardson, Jade Pettyjohn as Lexie Richardson, Jordan Elsass as Trip Richardson, Gavin Lewis as Moody Richardson, Megan Stott as Izzy Richardson and Lexi Underwood as Pearl Warren. Adapted by Liz Tigelaar, the show is produced by Witherspoon's company Hello Sunshine.
