Lisa Marie's death 'still unbelievable' to Priscilla Presley who recalls triumphant Golden Globes moment two days before death
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Priscilla Presley, the former wife of Elvis Presley is still grieving over the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, on January 12, 2023.
In a Q&A in Las Vegas on Friday, November 3, according to People, she revealed she has a close relationship and a strong bond with her granddaughter, Riley Keough, despite the rumors of a family feud.
Priscilla Presley says Lisa Marie’s death is 'still unbelievable'
Presley says her and Elvis Presley's only daughter Lisa Marie Presley's death due to medical complications after weight-loss surgery was still "unbelievable."
“It’s not easy. It still isn’t easy,” Priscilla said of Lisa Marie’s death.
"It’s still unbelievable, and you have to get yourself through it. … I have to be here for her.”
Lisa Marie Presley died hours after being hospitalized following an apparent cardiac arrest on January 12.
The medical examiner’s report also detailed that she was complaining of abdominal pain on the morning of her death which Presley recalled in her interviews.
Priscilla Presley recalls last time she was with Lisa Marie
She recalled the last time they were together at the Golden Globe Awards, where they supported Austin Butler, who played Elvis in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic.
“We were in the audience, and we were holding hands, and we were pushing for Austin,” Priscilla said.
“Obviously he got it, and we celebrated and that was such a great time and a great memory, because two days later she passed. So it was great that we had that time together.”
“She left me with a lot of great memories,” Priscilla added.
Priscilla Presley denies feud with Riley Keough over Lisa Marie’s estate
Priscilla also addressed her relationship with Riley, whom she reached a settlement agreement with over Lisa Marie’s estate on Wednesday, November 1.
She denied any animosity between them and said they were planning to spend Thanksgiving together.
“We are very close. I don’t care what you read in the paper, we are very close. In fact, we’re having Thanksgiving together,” Priscilla said.
“We keep the families together, but there are rumors and stuff in the paper that we’re fighting, and it’s not true at all.”
“Riley and I have never had any kind of problem,” she continued. “We’re here to support the family and keep the family together."
According to the agreement, Priscilla would receive a $1 million payment from Lisa Marie’s life insurance policy, her son Navarone Garibaldi would be a beneficiary of Lisa Marie’s trust and she would be buried near Elvis at Graceland.
