Lindsay Lohan's dad Michael chokes, threatens to stab ex-wife after she caught him looking for escort services
Lindsay Lohan’s father, 59-year-old Michael Lohan, was arrested on domestic violence charges in New York on Monday, February 10, according to multiple reports. He allegedly assaulted his estranged wife Kate Major and was taken to jail in Southampton.
According to Daily Mail, Lohan allegedly became violent when Major confronted him about looking up escort services in the Houston area while on a visit. He then allegedly threw plastic clothing hangers at her and grabbed her throat. She allegedly had visible bruises. He also allegedly threatened to stab her and humiliated her and called her a "braindead whore". He was reportedly booked on one count of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and another one count of second-degree harassment charges.
The couple was married for a year and Major filed for separation from Lohan in 2015. At the time of the incident, Major had been holding a hamster ball in her hand and looking for her pet. Lohan allegedly grabbed her hand and squeezed it, breaking the ball. She claimed that he had called her a "waste of life" and a "whore" and that he "could stab her".
Her handwritten statement to the police said that he had also been following her. "Michael has been following my car and also called the police on me. Today he got extremely violent and threatened to stab me. He called me a whore and threw hangers across the room. He threw my phone. Put his hand around the left side of my neck with his hand, pushing into my throat in rage. My neck hurts and is bruised. He also grabbed my right wrist causing the hamster wheel to crack. My right wrist is bruised and sore," she wrote, adding that he had allegedly said "he just wanted to stab me and end it all. He kept saying I was brain dead - I leave too many lights on and I'm a waste of life. He threatened to call the cops and put me away for 20 years."
She added: "This has been ongoing, an abusive controlling hell of a life. Today he really scared me and I was scared to call 911 and my hand is sore and hard to write. When he was choking me, my throat is all hoarse and in pain now. When I was looking for the hamster, he kicked me on the right side of my butt as I bent down." The police report mentions she had bruises on her neck and that her voice had been hoarse.
Lohan was "detained on the street in front of his kids" and was seen being "combative", a source told US Weekly.
The police report has also mentioned two other incidents of domestic violence. In 2011, Lohan allegedly "tried to throw Major off a balcony" while in 2009, he allegedly pushed her when arguing. In 2010, he was arrested for violating parole.
The former couple has two children together - Landon, 7 and Logan, 5. He also has four children with former wife Dina Lohan - Lindsay, 33, Michael Jr, 32, Aliana, 26, and Cody, 23. Lohan has served time in prison for criminal contempt of court and Major has a rap sheet for DUI among other offenses.
