'Limetown' on FB Watch: Neuroscience research community lies at the center of Jessica Biel thriller and its mystery will creep you out
When 'Limetown', the podcast was released in July 2015, it took barely two months to become a favorite among listeners becoming the number one US podcast on iTunes, being featured on Vulture's Top 10 Podcasts of 2015. The podcast, written and directed by Zack Akers and produced by Skip Bronkie and was downloaded 10 million times.
What makes the series such a hit among listeners is not just the mystery that keeps one on its toes but that the mystery is coupled with fear and anticipation - the story of Limetown could, quite possibly, be a story from the real world.
Jessica Biel plays the role of an American Public Radio journalist Lia Haddock who is in a desperate quest to find the truth behind the disappearance of 326 people from Limetown. Established as a neuroscience community, citizens of Limetown had a peculiar, almost eerie, lifestyle. Then one day, the people living within this community just disappear - out of the blue. The town is left empty and desolate with not one soul in view. Fifteen years later and not one of the 326 vanished citizens were found.
Lia knows everything about the case, which is very personal to her. For one, the case also happens to be personal for her, for her uncle Emile Haddock (Stanley Tucci) was among the people who went missing. What makes matters worse is that there is very little information available to shed light on what happened right before the disappearance.
For a story that unfolds as a series of investigative reports conducted by Lia, 'Limetown' will keep you glued to the screens. If you are looking for a thriller to pick up, 'Limetown' makes for a great pick - it is suspenseful, thrilling, carries a mind-boggling mystery at its core and worst of all, is foreshadowing our own reality. The question indeed is: "How do you move 326 people without anyone noticing?"
'Limetown' will premiere on Facebook Watch on October 16, 2019.
