Lily-Rose Depp plays 'nasty bad pop girl' who is seduced by The Weeknd in sultry 'The Idol' trailer
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A new trailer of the HBO series 'Idol' is bringing up the heat. The Sam Levinson-directed drama stars Lily-Rose Depp alongside The Weeknd. The series is about a rising pop artist who is in a relationship with a self-help guru and nightclub owner. The Grammy-winning artist is also a co-creator of the program.
The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, first made the public aware that he was working on 'The Idol' in June 2021 when he declared that he would be collaborating with Reza Fahim and 'Euphoria' creator Levinson on a television project. Previously referred to as 'Torture P**n', the upcoming drama series also revealed its cast. The HBO show will include Dan Levy, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hank Azaria, and singer Troye Sivan. The two-minute trailer revealed Deep and the 'Blinding Lights' history-makers characters.

A sultry teaser
The new YouTube video begins with the introduction of Depp's character Jocelyn, in sexy red lingerie posing for a picture while Britney Spears 'Gimme More' plays in the background. Further, she heads into a nightclub, and her path crosses with Tedros, played by The Weekend. Tedros tells her: “You’ve got the best job in the world. You should be having way more fun.” Tedros blindfolds Jocelyn and touches her body while she records vocals, continuing the overtly sexual teaser, and the pop star's crew freaks out over a selfie Jocelyn allegedly snapped while 'on her f - - king knees'. g. On the screen, there are several images of the two leads together, and Jocelyn can be heard saying to him, "I like you." The trailer ends as Jocelyn enters an arena show, welcomes her "angels," and starts performing.
What is 'The Idol' about?
The official logline of the show states, "After experiencing a mental breakdown during her previous tour, Jocelyn is now working to gain her rightful reputation as the greatest and sexiest pop diva in America. Nevertheless, Tedros, a nightclub promoter with a dark history, reignites her feelings, and the two characters will go through a romantic awakening."
'The Idol' will air Sundays at 9:30 p.m. EST starting June 4 on HBO and also will stream on HBO Max.
