Lil Uzi Vert says he's running for president, tickled fans say 'Kanye West's real quiet after seeing this'
Popular rapper Lil Uzi Vert has apparently had enough of seeing people like Kanye West and Bernie Sanders falter in their bid to reach the White House. He has now decided to throw his own hat into the ring. In the late hours of July 21, the hip-hop star and fashion icon tweeted, "IM TIRED OF THIS... IM RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT... VOTE FOR BABY PLUTO." Uzi has been using the 'Baby Pluto' name as his Twitter name for a while now, and it's also a song from his latest album 'Eternal Atake', which finally released in March 2020 after a lengthy delay. Prior to this, the rapper had also posted a patriotic picture of himself decked up in stars and stripes garb on an airplane, complete with a US-flag themed bag.
Although it's not clear if Lil Uzi is being entirely serious about this campaign promise or is merely commenting on the dismal state of affairs in the nation right now, some fans are taking his announcement at face value. One fan said, "LETS GOO, UZI, YESSIRRRR," and another excited supporter declared, "Uzi gonna change the world to a whole different universe!" One creative user tweeted, "Lol Uzi gonna make his verse on 'Bad & Boujee' the new national anthem and I'm here for it." Another fan chimed in, "You got my vote baby!" while a supporter also tweeted his request to make "FUTSAL SHUFFLE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM."
There are also plenty of Kanye West memes being shared in the comments section, with one fan posting a photo of the pair and saying "Idols become rivals." Another Lil Uzi follower tweeted, "Kanye real quiet after seeing this." Other people were posting pictures of Kanye tearing up, since the Yeezy mogul recently failed to make the ballot (he needed 10,000 signatures) after an emotional rally in South Carolina, and went on a bizarre Twitter rant soon afterward, where he claimed Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner were trying to "lock him up".
Another tickled Uzi Vert fan said, "LMAOOOOOO FINALLY SOMEONE I CAN GET BEHIND." Another fan chimed in with a tongue-in-cheek comment, "Politics saved." Another disbelieving user tweeted, "2020 can’t be real."
However, fans were also pointing out that the 25-year-old rapper was perhaps too young to run for president, saying, "You cute but you gotta be older bro." The minimum requirement for presidential candidacy in the United States is that one must be at least 35 years old and should have lived in the United States for at least 14 years. So it doesn't look likely for 25-year-old Lil Uzi Vert, but thankfully he has a decade to prepare for the stern task ahead of him.
