Who is Lil Mosey? Rapper, 19, faces jail time for allegedly raping woman in a cabin along with another man
Rapper Lil Mosey of 'Pull Up' fame is facing second-degree rape charges along with jail time for skipping a court hearing in Washington. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter was summoned to court and was due to appear on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. However, now there is a warrant out for his arrest after he failed to show up in court.
Mosey had been charged for allegedly raping a woman who went to a cabin along with her friend to meet him. The incident took place in January when the woman was reportedly raped by Mosey and another man. If convicted, Mosey can face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Who is Lil Mosey?
Born on January 25, 2002, in Washington, Lathan Moses Stanley Echols is more popular by his stage name Lil Mosey. He hails from a multiracial descent as his mother is White and his father is half-Puerto Rican and half-Black. Raised by his mother in Seattle, Mosey found his passion in rapping in his early teens. He launched his music career in eighth grade while attending Mountlake Terrace High School. He was then transferred to Shorecrest High School in tenth grade, but he dropped out to pursue his music career, following the success of his song 'Pull Up'.
He debuted in the rap domain in 2018 with the studio album 'Northsbest'. His second studio album 'Certified Hitmaker' reached number 12 on US Billboard 200. The highest-charting single of his career happens to be 'Blueberry Faygo'.
Lil Mosey's career and music
Back in 2016, Lil Mosey first came into prominence after uploading his song 'So Bad' online which grabbed one too many eyeballs. He has toured with rappers Smooky MarGielaa, Lil Tjay, Polo G and Smokepurpp and was overwhelmed when Lil Xan brought him on stage during his concert in Seattle.
"That was my first real performance as an established artist. I met Steve Cannon in LA — they were staying at my hotel. They invited us to some function and then they told me they had a show in Seattle. They just asked if I wanted to come out as a special guest," he said in an interview. Mosey also added, "I wouldn’t consider myself a mumble rapper, because I don’t know what that is. But when I talk, I mumble. So it’s in my music because that’s how I talk. I’m not going for that sound. I tried to make myself be able to talk better than that and I couldn’t. That’s how I make music. It’s fire like that, though, so I don’t gotta change nothing."
What are the charges against Lil Mosey?
One of the survivors who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Mosey claimed that she initially consented to have sex with the rapper in a vehicle. But, she blacked out soon after drinking White Claws and champagne. While she was not fully conscious, Mosey allegedly got on top of her and pushed her legs up and apart while continuing to have sex with her
According to the affidavit obtained by TMZ, the survivor stated that she recounted having pain in her leg as Mosey was pushing her legs for sex. Soon, she blacked out again and as she woke up, she found another man forcing himself on her. The woman is believed to have sustained bruises on her arm, neck and inner knee from the alleged rape. In the affidavit, she mentioned getting a message from one of the party attendees, that the guys were talking about "training two girls."
Mosey who failed to attend his scheduled court appearance faces a $50,000 bench warrant. If convicted, the rapper faces life in prison and up to $50,000 in fines.
Mosey was arrested on a felony gun charge in Burbank, California in August 2020. He was taken into custody, along with two others, following a traffic stop. The rapper, his security and an unnamed minor were in an SUV without a license plate. Police later discovered three loaded guns, one of which was allegedly in the minor's possession. Four credit cards were also found in the bodyguard's bag. None of the cards belonged to any of the parties in the car. They were all arrested on the same felony charge. Mosey was released on a $35,000 bond.
