Liam Hemsworth has revealed what he did to stay "balanced" after his split from his former wife Miley Cyrus in August last year.

The former 'Hunger Games' star, 30, shared that he would exercise and this helped help him a lot during that period.

He spoke about his exercise regime in a cover story for Men's Health Australia's May issue and laughed when asked whether he was now focusing on rebuilding. "Rebuilding?" he quipped. "Yeah, that’s a good way to put it."

He also added that he "spent most of the project running around the streets and getting beaten up as well."

“But it was a great thing because it just kept me moving. I was doing like, 10 (km) a day or something at one point, which I’ve never done in my life," he shared.

Hemsworth said he is proud of his hard work and also grateful for the focus. "This last six months, honestly, for keeping my head level and just staying balanced, I’d say exercise has been big for me," he admitted. Hemsworth is in good shape due to his role in the new Quibi thriller 'Most Dangerous Game'.

A source had also shared with Us Weekly that Hemsworth "has been very focused on getting in amazing shape. He also enjoys working out because it helps him have a positive mindset and distracts him from any negativity or drama."

Hemsworth's trainer Jason Walsh shared with Men's Health that his client had trained with workout partners like Jared Leto and Jake Gyllenhaal. "I can’t believe how well his body responds when he’s not going through stuff," Walsh said of Hemsworth.

"I haven’t seen him this happy for a long time. We took advantage of that," Walsh added.

Miley Cyrus, 27, had announced that she was splitting with her husband Liam Hemsworth whom she had been married for 8 months after she was seen cozying up to Kaitlynn Carter on vacation in Italy.

Hemsworth then filed for divorce and is now dating model Gabriella Brooks and the duo is reportedly in a good place. A source revealed that "he feels more at home with Gabriella than he did with Miley and feels like she can be his complete self without any drama."

The insider added, "Gabriella helped Liam boost his confidence and played an encouraging role in his life after his split with Miley.  They are very happy together and it’s comfortable and easy."

We had previously reported that Hemsworth's parents Leonie and Craig are pleased with their son's new choice.

"Liam's family is so taken by Gabby, they think Liam has made a very solid choice. She's also so well-spoken and just seems to have a really good head on her shoulders," an insider told Ok! Australia. Brooks had entered the glam world at the age of 14 and signed up with agencies like Priscillas Models, Storm Models, and Next Models in Australia, America, and Britain.

She has starred in big brand campaigns such as Topshop and Calvin Klein. Reportedly, she studied ancient history and archaeology at Sydney University and loves zoology. She had earlier been romantically linked to  '1975' frontman Matt Healy for four years.
