'Let's act like it never happened': Swifties troll themselves as Taylor Swift keeps mum on Rep TV theories

Taylor Swift's lack of comment on the recent Rep TV theories has sparked a playful trend of self-mockery among her loyal followers

Sao Paulo, Brazil: Taylor Swift's fans were left disappointed when she did not make a significant announcement during her final show of 2023 as they had anticipated.

Swift is reportedly currently in the process of re-recording her early discography, releasing them as Taylor’s Versions.

This time around, fans were eagerly anticipating an announcement about Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at the Eras Tour Rio show. However, their expectations were not met.

Swift's lack of comment on the recent Rep TV theories has sparked a playful trend of self-mockery among her loyal followers, affectionately known as the Swifties.

Also, the pop icon appeared to inadvertently hint at her 'Reputation' Tour before swiftly correcting herself. While reminiscing about her ongoing Eras Tour, the singer had a slip of the tongue and said "rep" instead.

She promptly corrected herself, stating, "During the rep-, the uh, Eras Tour," as per Mirror. 

The incident was captured on video and shared on X (formally Twitter).  As Taylor caught her slip-up, the crowd of Swifties burst into cheers. Many fans had been anticipating a major announcement from her that evening. 

A fan tweeted, "Clearly no one told taylor swift that she was supposed to announce reputation tv tonight."

"I'm so disappointed I really really am :( I was so hoping that Taylor Swift would announce her Reputation Taylors version album but I guess she's not going to do that this year :(," said another.

The recent Rep TV theories have led to a wave of self-deprecating humor among the Swifties. 

A fan tweeted, "Taylor and her team seeing everyone clown for rep tv."

Another fan said, "Me waiting for the Rep TV announcement even though my livestream ended #SaoPauloTSTheErasTour."

"Live footage of taylor swift logging in to see the rep tv theories before her show tonight," wrote another. 

"Raise your hands if you’ve been personally victimised by @taylorswift13

with her not releasing #REPTV even after her hints online/on stage," claimed another. 

"Taylor when tree informs her thru her earpiece that rep tv is trending," penned a fan. 

"If rep tv isn’t announced tonight, as a family of swifties we all need to agree to never bring it up again. it’s that serious," stated another.
