'Let the Right One In' on Showtime: From Demian Bichir to Madison Taylor Baez, meet cast of psychological horror series
If you are a fan of stories based on vampires, then Showtime is bringing a new series to give a fresh and unique take on folklore. Titled ‘Let the Right One In’, the upcoming psychological horror drama chronicles the journey of Mark and his daughter Eleanor and is based on the novel of the same name by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist. The lives of Mark and his daughter turned upside down when Eleanor became a vampire a few years ago.
Since then, the young girl has lived closed-in life and is only able to go out at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive. However, the duo decides to move back to New York and is in desperate need to find a cure for this condition. Will they be able to find a cure? We’ll get the answers when the show premieres exclusively on Showtime.

Demian Bichir as Mark Kane
Born on August 1, 1963, Mark Kane is a Mexican actor who has been a force to be reckoned with from the time he joined the entertainment industry. Whether it was Mexican titles or American, Bichir has given several award-worthy performances in a career spanning over four decades. The actor started his acting career by doing a lot of supporting roles in Mexican titles, including ‘The Penitent’, ‘Gimme the Power’, ‘Don’t Tempt Me’, and ‘American Visa’. The 2011 movie ‘A Better Life’ made him a superstar and earned him rave reviews. He received a Best Actor nomination for the aforementioned title.
Since then, he has been seen in several high-end ventures such as ‘The Hateful Eight’, ‘Alien: Covenant’, ‘The Nun’, ‘Midnight Sky’, ‘Chaos Walking’, and ‘Godzilla vs Kong’.
He was married to Canadian model and actress Stefanie Sherk. However, Bichir’s life turned upside when his wife died in April 2019 of an apparent suicide by drowning.
Madison Taylor Baez as Eleanor Kane
The singer-turned-actress, 11, was born and raised in Orange County, California, and is of Hispanic and Filipino descent. Baez took the world by storm while appearing as Young Selena Quintanilla in the Netflix series ‘Selena: The Series’. The child prodigy garnered a lot of acclaim for her performance and became an instant star. The young star went on to show her singing prowess when she entered this year’s 'America’s Got Talent' and gave a Golden Buzzer performance to reach the semi-finals of the event.
Even though she made it to the semi-finals, a lot of people believed that her audition was rigged because she came out of the audience. However, the judges gave a strong statement regarding the matter and closed the chapter.
Anika Noni Rose as Naomi Cole
The American singer-turned-actress began her professional career by doing supporting roles in several projects such as ‘From Justin to Kelly’, ‘Temptation’, and ‘Surviving Christmas’. However, the actress took the world by storm with her extraordinary acting in the movie ‘Dreamgirls’ in 2006. Cole garnered a lot of acclaim for her portrayal and took her popularity to a whole new level.
In 2009, she voiced Tiana, Disney’s first African-American princess, as seen in ‘The Princess and the Frog’. The movie went on to receive positive reviews and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 82nd Academy Awards. She was named a Disney Legend in 2011.
‘Company’, ‘Khumba’, ‘Imperial Dreams’, ‘Assassination Nation’, ‘Elementary’, ‘Bates Motel’, ‘Little Flies Everywhere’, and ‘Maid’ are some of the amazing titles she has been a part of.
Grace Gummer as Claire Logan
Gummer made her acting debut when she was just seven years old and went on to play the younger version of Clara del Valle in the 1993 movie ‘The House of the Spirits’. She is the daughter of Academy Award winner Meryl Streep and sculptor Don Gummer. In the initial part of her career, she worked in the field of fashion and came back as an actor in the 2010 movie ‘Meskada’. On the other hand, she garnered a lot of good reviews for her performance in ‘Gigantic’, in which she played the role of Anna Moore.
In 2011, she played the role of Chloe Coverly in the revival of ‘Arcadia’. Her performance was so good that she won the Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut. Since then, she has been more inclined toward TV roles and was seen in several amazing titles like ‘Zero Hour’, ‘The Newsroom’, ‘Extant’, ‘Mr. Robot’, ‘Confirmation’, ‘The Hot Zone’, and ‘Dr Death’.
Gummer started dating Grammy-winning producer Mark Ronson in 2020 and on September 4, 2021, it was announced that Gummer got married to him after one year of dating.
Other actors to feature in the series include Ian Foreman (Isaiah Cole), Kevin Carroll (Zeke Dawes), and Nick Stahl (Matthew).
'Let the Right One In' premieres exclusively on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 10 pm EST.
