LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The iconic 'Gangsta's paradise' rapper Coolio has died at the age of 59. The 90s Grammy-winning rapper was visiting a friend late on Wednesday afternoon, September 28, when he was reportedly found by paramedics in the bathroom of his friend's home in Los Angeles after they were called in for an emergency medical evaluation. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene. 

As of now, police claims there are no signs of foul play in the death of the iconic rapper but cause of death remains unknown, according to TMZ. An autopsy and toxicology test will be used to determine an official cause of death. Fans of the famous rapper have taken to social media to mourn Coolio's sudden death, with many paying tribute to his famous and relevant music and its themes.

Born Artis Leon Ivey Jr., Coolio rose to fame after he recorded and released the song 'Gangsta's Paradise' for the 1995 film 'Dangerous Minds', starring Michelle Pfeiffer.  Famous celebrity YouTuber of 'First We Feast' & 'Hot Ones' paid tribute to Coolio and his music by remarking that the first CD he ever bought was the rapper's and wrote, "First CD I ever bought in my life and the most legendary Wing 10 Last Dab these eyes have ever seen RIP Coolio" Actor Martin Lawrence tweeted his condolences and prayers to his family. "My deepest condolences and prayers go out to the family of @Coolio #rip." One fan shared a clip of his 'Gangsta's Paradise' and wrote "RIP Coolio. All rise for the national anthem." One fan wrote referencing his hit rap "COOLIO BUBBA YOU NOW THE GANGSTER IN THE PARADISE FOREVER RIP."



 



 



 



 

One fan mourned the rapper's death by remembering the rapper's popular theme song from the 90s sitcom 'Kenan & Kel'. "The way TV and hip-hop were so connected in the 90s is something I’ll never forget, and it gave us one of the best songs in the Kenan and Kel theme by Coolio. Rest in peace," they tweeted. Another chimed in adding "putting this and fantastic voyage on loop. bangers."

American journalist, Charles V Payne shared a picture of Coolio and simply wrote, "RIP Coolio" One fan shared a clip of Wrigley stadium in Chicago paying tribute to Coolio by playing his other hit song 'Fantastic Voyage'. “Fantastic Voyage playing at Wrigley. RIP Coolio," the fan tweeted. Coolio had a cameo in Batman & Robin in 1997 and a fan shared the pic of the him in the role. "RIP Coolio.
