After learning that actress Lori Loughlin, who was sentenced last month for her involvement in the college admissions scandal, will get to choose in which prison facility she wants to spend locked up for two months, NBA legend LeBon James took to Instagram to express his frustration as what he looked at as 'white privilege.'

According to New York Post, Loughlin had her request approved to serve at “a facility closest to her home in CA, preferably the camp at FCI Victorville,” per court documents. “Of her what!!???. I’m laughing cause sometimes you have to just to stop from crying!” the Los Angeles Lakers superstar wrote on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of a Vanity Fair article, “Lori Loughlin will get to serve her two-month sentence at prison of her choice. Don’t make no damn sense to me. We just want the same treatment if committed of same crime that’s all. Is that asking for to much??? Let me guess, it is huh. Yeah I know!! We’ll just keep pushing forward and not expecting the handouts! STRONG, BLACK & POWERFUL!"

The post attracted a flurry of responses, including celebrities. Rapper 50 Cent commented on the post saying, "That sounds about white. I have never herd [sic] of that before. You going to jail but pick anyone you want to go to. LOL this is so f**ked up." Actress Viola Davis also chimed in, writing, "Whaaaaatttt??!!! Uhh... is it punishment if you get to choose? Is she going to choose her meal program, too??!!" 2 Chainz commented with a thumbs down emoji, while T.I. wrote, "sounds bout white."

However, the post in question seems to have been deleted by James as an error shows up every time one tries to access the specific page.

After news of James' post went viral on Twitter, many people on the platform also agreed with his opinion. "Yep, Caucasians get to CHOOSE what prison they go to. The Bureau of Prisons doesn't make that choice, the caucasian convict does. Sounds about white!" one person wrote, while another said, "White privilege... nah, that's just a myth, a rumor. Doesn't exist. Doesn't every convicted felon get to 'choose' their prison? Ya know, like scheduling a spa-getaway..."

A third opined that the Loughlin was not allowed to choose her prison because of the color of her skin but rather due to her celebrity status. "Hey @KingJames I don't always agree with what ya say but this Lori Loughlin B.S. is crazy as hell. Im White and this is some celebrity privilege not just white privilege. I got caught street racing when i was in my 20's. I didnt get to pick my prison or anything. It was 60 days," the user said.

However, not everyone agreed with James. NYPD police commissioner Bernard Kerik one of the people to point it out to James that letting Loughlin choose the prison had nothing to do with the fact that she was a white woman. "First I thought ⁦@KingJames was arrogant, now I realize he’s just ignorant... EVERY federal judge allows a defendant to request a specific facility designation. Happens everyday! " he wrote. New York Times' best selling author Tony Shaffer, on the other hand, took a jab at how many of the products that James endorses are made in China. That's right, @KingJames - she should be going to one of those Chinese concentration camps along with the Uighurs that you never speak out about since you are owned by the People Republic of China's government" he wrote.
