LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lauren Jauregui has expressed her opinion regarding Elon Musk's decision to impose viewing limits on Twitter. The former Fifth Harmony member believed that it was not a mere coincidence that the billionaire was implementing these changes at a time when the US was gearing up for another presidential election.

Jauregui tweeted, "I just wanna say Elon destroying twitter ahead of elections is not a coincidence. Especially considering what his obvious political stance is. This place was one of our most effective organizing tools during 2020 and is where a lot of discourse and accountability happens."

'Nothing these billionaires do is ever a coincidence'

Jauregui continued, "Please understand nothing these billionaires do is ever a coincidence. Slowly but surely is the game, so we are apathetic instead of paying attention. When everything feels random and confusing, just know it is anything but. Just connect the dots."

Jauregui's remarks come after Musk's decision to restrict the number of tweets users could view a day. Musk stated that these changes were implemented in response to concerns regarding excessive data scraping and system manipulation. "To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits: - Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day - Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day - New unverified accounts to 300/day," he wrote on July 1.

'Trying to help out Republicans'

Many seemed to agree with Jaurengui. A user commented on her post, saying, "He’s been deleting all the hashtags too, that’s not coincidental either." Another wrote, "I feel so slow for not having connected the dots before your tweet. oh my god." A third chimed in, "Yep, knew it from the very beginning. His fascination with right-wing politics, was the main reason he wanted to buy Twitter. Trying to help out Republicans, as much as possible." A fourth claimed, "Its also interesting how the read-block isn't effective globally, it seems to only be in the US so far. I haven't been affected at least (Norway)." "It's all millimetrically organized and decided and we'll never know the reasons. All for more power!" said one, while another wrote, "They’re playing chess, like our lives aren’t to play with."
