Toni Braxton's niece Lauren Braxton dies from heart condition at age 24

Lauren passed away after suffering complications related to a heart condition and was pronounced dead on the spot by medical officials

Toni Braxton's 24-year-old niece Lauren Braxton passed away in Maryland. According to TMZ, Lauren passed away on Monday, April 29, after suffering complications related to a heart condition, her father told the publication.

A 911 call was placed at noon in Maryland when paramedics arrived, but she was unresponsive and pronounced dead on the spot by medical officials.

Michael Braxton Jr. also told TMZ that there was no foul play suspected. Michael and Toni are the older siblings to Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar who began performing as 'The Braxtons' in the late 1980s. On his part, Michael too is a singer and songwriter. In addition, he has also appeared on a handful of episodes of his sisters' reality television show. 

According to Mirror, Lauren was last active on social media six days ago when she shared a throwback photo of herself as a baby sitting in a high chair. "I still stay eating to this day," she joked in the caption. She was also featured on Family Values and goes by the name LoLo. Her last post on Instagram was six days ago.

At the time of her death, Lauren had been working as an order selector for DPI Specialty Foods Mid Atlantic Between 2014 and 2016, Lauren worked as a personal assistant at her aunt, Traci’s, Soul World Entertainment and was a graduate of Northeast Senior High School in Pasadena, Maryland.

In the past, Toni has had heart problems. Before 'Dancing with the Stars', she was diagnosed with coronary microvascular angina. Talking about it to New York Daily after her elimination, she said that she wanted to do better. "I wanted to breathe better. And I was definitely breathing better. I’ve come a long way from Week One to Week Now."
