Larry Woodcock: JJ Vallow's 'cheerful' granddad arrives at cult mom Lori Vallow's murder trial, day after he broke down
MADISON COUNTY, IDAHO: The grandfather of Joshua "JJ" Vallow, Larry Woodcock, arrived at court on the third day of Lori Vallow's murder trial. He greeted reporters cheerfully, even revealing that it was his 76th birthday.
The previous day, Woodcock had been emotional and sobbing after harrowing images of JJ (who was adopted by Vallow along with her late husband Charles) and his sister, Tylee Ryan's decomposed remains were presented to the jury. However, he appeared to be in better spirits on Wednesday, April 12 as he spoke to reporters outside the Fremont County Courthouse in Idaho and said that he was looking forward to returning to the courtroom.

"We thank y'all for y'alls coverage," he said. "We will be here today all day, and we'll be here tomorrow, and the next day, next week and the week after that." Woodcock also mentioned that it was his 76th birthday, before thanking the media again and heading into the courtroom to attend Vallow's murder trial.

Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell got married 2 weeks after the murders
Two days prior, Woodcock's wife, Kay, testified in court that she found disturbing Amazon searches on Charles Vallow's account, several months after his death. The trial had previously revealed that Vallow had used the same Amazon account to buy wedding clothes and a ring for her marriage to Chad Daybell. The Amazon searches included items like a beach wedding dress, a bathing suit, a malachite ring, and men's clothing. These searches happened just days before the alleged murder of Tammy Daybell, Chad's wife and the mother of his five children.
According to the trial, Vallow and Daybell are accused of murdering Vallow's two children, JJ and Tylee, aged 7 and 16. The couple claimed that the children were "dark" and "possessed". After the alleged murder, Vallow and Daybell got married in Hawaii after less than two weeks.
When Kay Woodcock lost contact with her grandson JJ in August 2019, she hired a private investigator to find him. JJ and Tylee's remains were later found in a shallow grave in Daybell's backyard in June 2020. Woodcock testified that Vallow was once a loving mother to JJ and Tylee and remembered her as very engaged and caring for her children years before the alleged murders.
