'They are guilty': Slain JJ Vallow's grandparents relieved as Lori and Chad Daybell face setback in court
MADISON COUNTY, IDAHO: Grandparents of murdered Joshua, known as JJ Vallow, 7, alongside another child of Lori and Chad, Tylee Ryan, 16, have expressed their content in the evil parent's recent court hearing. Lori's family members who have accused her of being part of a "doomsday cult" with her husband say the pair "can make all the excuses" but "are guilty of murdering the two children."
After District Judge Steven Boyce denied a request from Chad's lawyer to postpone the trial until April 2024, JJ's grandfather Larry Woodcock told East Idaho News, "I feel like the world is praying that this trial goes forward and that we have a good, honest, straight-up trial focused on the evidence. I believe this case is going to be proven beyond the shadow of a doubt. They can make all the excuses but in the end, they are guilty of murdering two children."

JJ's grandmother Kay Woodcock claimed she was relieved when Judge Boyce also denied Lori's lawyers' request to have her and Chad meet to strategize the case. "Thank goodness he did deny that. It just seemed like an off-the-wall kind of request. I think Lori wanted to simply see Chad in person and maybe figure out if she's going to turn on him. There has to be more to it than just them wanting to meet and strategize," she said.
The grandparents believed Chad is going to turn on Lori at the trial. Chad appeared to never look at Lori during the court hearing on Thursday, but Lori looked at Chad repeatedly, the outlet reports. "Lori – you're fixing to be thrown totally under the bus," Larry Woodcock said. "In fact, you're not going to get thrown under a bus – you're going got get thrown under a steamroller. Larry added, "Chad is not your friend, his attorney is not your friend and I truly believe they are going to throw her under the bus the moment the case opens."
Lori and Chad are held on counts of murder, conspiracy, and grand theft charges in relation to the murder of JJ and Tylee. In addition, they are also facing charges for Chad's late wife, Tammy Daybell, 49, who died under "suspicious circumstances" in 2019. Both the accused Lori and Chad if convicted in the April trial will face the death penalty.
