Spoilers for 'Landscapers' Episode 2

It's Monday night and with it, HBO brought another episode of the captivating 'Landscapers'. The HBO Max series is a true-crime series that follows the story of a docile English couple Christopher and Susan Edwards who were responsible for covering up the death of her parents.

'Landscapers' stars Olivia Colman and David Thewlis in the lead as the culprits who kept the fact hidden for around a decade. The first episode saw the couple in hiding in France when a slipup by Chris causes his stepmother to reveal the details to the police leading to their secret being discovered. We were shown the couple taking the diplomatic route and choosing to co-operate with the investigation. Read on to know what went down in the second episode of 'Landscapers'.

The second episode starts with flashbacks of a younger Susan as she witnesses a fight between her parents. We then see Christopher calmly tell her in the current time to just tell the 'truth' and that there's absolutely no need to worry or make anything up. The couple clearly has everything revised and down pat with a fixed, pre-determined story. The two of them are held separately in custody with Susan choosing to have a solicitor but Christopher choosing to co-operate. Now having legal guidance puts her at an advantage as she comes to know of the option of choosing not to answer any questions till any evidence is found, while Chris doesn't know of this at all. Although she wants to let him know she's unable to, as police don't let suspects share tactics.

This sees Susan refuse to answer all questions while Chris churns out a revised story. The police decide to be smart and try and trip her up informing her about stuff Chris said. The stunned woman at first doesn't believe her husband would say those things but eventually cracks and spills about what happened. She tells them that her mother in a drunken fit of rage shot her father and when following events that transpired caused her to kill her mother she told Chris about it.

Her husband, the only person who has made her feel safe in her life was the one who came up with the plan and story. He also was the person who wrapped and buried the bodies of his in-laws in their garden for his beloved wife. He helped her and protected her coming up with the solution to cover the crime.

And just like that Christopher was revealed to be the brains behind the whole operation.

'Landscapers ' is available to stream on HBO MAX with new episodes dropping every Monday.
