LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lana Del Ray has received five nominations for the Grammys 2024. The 'Video Games' singer has been nominated for the categories of Album of the Year for 'Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,' Song of the Year and Best Alternative Music Performance for 'A&W,' Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for 'Candy Necklace' featuring Jon Batiste and Best Alternative Music Album for 'Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.'

Ray has posted an Instagram video sharing her excitement and thanking everyone who nominated her.

She added that she had no idea that a song should be submitted to be nominated for the Grammys. "I, in fact, only learned this year that you have to submit if you want to be nominated," said the singer.

This statement has raised criticism against Ray's managers.

Who are Lana Del Ray's managers?

The 38-year-old singer has two managers from TaP Music Management in Los Angeles, Ben Mawson and Ed Millet.

She met them at the CMJ Music Marathon in October 2009. They helped Ray to break her contract with the New York-based 5 Points Records.

Tap Music has managed singer Dua Lipa also for a long time until 2022.

The singer did not look worried or sad when she talked about her ignorance of the process of the Grammy nomination; instead, she spoke about being grateful for the nominations.

"The best part of all of it is just even being able to put yourself out there, which I did," said Ray.

She concluded the video by saying, "I am super grateful."

How do artists get nominated for Grammys?

Despite being the biggest night in the music industry, the Grammy Awards takes a whole year, from submissions to nominations to the award announcement.

The process begins with the Recording Academy's Online Entry Process (OEP).

According to the website GRAMMY AWARDS, the first step is submitting the entry, i.e., "Recording Academy members and record companies enter recordings and music videos released during the eligibility year which they consider worthy of recognition in the GRAMMY Awards process."

More than 350 experts screen the songs to check whether they meet the criteria. Then, the qualified songs are nominated by the voting members after a first-round ballot.

At the final voting, members will vote "only in those Fields in which they are peers of the nominees."

Finally, after tabulated by Deloitte & Touche LLP, the winners are announced at the GRAMMY Awards Premiere and telecast ceremonies. The website says, "The recording with the most votes in a category wins."

Lana Del Ray's fans not happy with her management company

Ray's revelation has led to widespread criticism against her managers, accusing them of being the reason for her not getting an award in the previous years.

Social media is flooded with angry reactions asking the singer to fire her management.

One user asked, "Who is her manager?"

Another user said, "HELP SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN A 20 GRAMMY AWARD WINNER BY NOW LANA GIRL"

"she would've won a Grammy," a third user shared the same opinion.

"This makes me so angry," said a user.

A fifth user stated, "Fire your agent." While another one asked, "what's her management been doing all this time?"

"Manager needs fired first thing 10 years ago," said another user.
