'Did he get out the car': Man infected with monkeypox slammed for stepping out to buy food
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A man from Los Angeles seemingly suffering from monkeypox is facing massive backlash after he posted a video of himself going to McDonald’s. As the world grapples with new virus outbreaks such as monkeypox, Covid, polio, and West Nile every now and then, the man was called out for not following safety protocols.
The man, who identifies himself as Duane Cali on TikTok sits in a car as he takes a sip from his drink and looks at the camera. He says, “what’s good, y’all? My bad I’m not in the house. But I had to go make a McDonald’s run ‘cause I ain’t got no groceries. I ain’t have no food."

Because not everybody who you f**k with is gonna f**k with you. Not everybody you look out for is gonna look out for you. S**t, you might show up for the wrong motherf*****r at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and end up with the f****n’ monkeypox.”

As the video ends, he says, “at the end of the day, just choose yourself.” A song titled “Choose Yourself” by Duane Cali plays and an announcement mentions the single is available “on all platforms."
"Disgusting", say social media users as they blast the man
The video left many social media users fuming, wondering how he paid for his food since the virus is contagious and spreads by touching shared surfaces, such as cards or cash. A user wrote, "Disgusting. At this point we should all just be in a bubble and roll around." Another commented, "I don’t know what his cash flow situation is but he could have just ordered groceries for delivery. I hope he’s not planning to do actual groceries shopping expanding the exposure to more ppl."
A third chimed in, "Oh my God a person saying choose themselves as a motto doing something selfish that's I can't believe it." A fourth commented, "First off: i got questions??? Did he get out the car? Did he touch the door, counters, soda machines, soda tops in the McDonald’s ? The bathroom?"
