Kylie Jenner is 'POOR': Star slammed for ‘profiting off black culture’ after Forbes says she's NOT a billionaire
Reality TV star Kylie Jenner came under the scanner when Forbes magazine dropped her from the billionaire list. After reporting in March 2019 that the 22-year-old is the youngest self-made billionaire in the United States, the magazine reiterated that she isn't actually a billionaire.
On May 29, an investigative report said, "Forbes has recalculated Kylie’s net worth and concluded that she is not a billionaire. A more realistic accounting of her personal fortune puts it at just under $900 million, despite the headlines surrounding the Coty deal that seemed to confirm her billionaire status."
It further read, "More than a third of that is the estimated $340 million in post-tax cash she would have pocketed from selling a majority of her company. The rest is made up of revised earnings based on her business’ smaller size and a more conservative estimate of its profitability, plus the value of her remaining share of Kylie Cosmetics—which is not only smaller than the Jenners led us to believe but is also worth less now than it was when the deal was announced in November, given the economic effects of the coronavirus."
Reportedly, Kylie owns an estimated 44.1% of Kylie Cosmetics, rather than 49% and while she claimed her cosmetic company sold more than $300 million in makeup, in reality, it only did $125 million.
As soon as the news surfaced on social media, there was much hue and cry. "This is huge! Forbes is alleging Kylie Jenner could have forged her tax returns to make her company appear more successful than it actually is," one tweet read and another said, "Dang. Forbes says it was duped into thinking Kylie was a billionaire by things like 'likely forged tax returns'."
Kylie then reacted to the reports saying, "What am I even waking up to. I thought this was a reputable site.. all I see are a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol. I’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. Period but okay," and added, "I can name a list of 100 things more important right now than fixating on how much money I have."
Fans are pretty bummed to hear the news and can't stop trolling her on Twitter. "Just heard @KylieJenner is poor?? Disgusting..." one said and another posted, "So glad that you rich as f**k while people are struggling from losing their jobs." Another wrote, "Wow thought you'd just post a naked pic to show your plastics and injections or another stiff twerking video, you for the first time in black murder history made a fake aggrieved post instead. You are pathetic, and who punched you in your lips? Lol, they look gross/swollen."
One fan mocked her, tweeting, "Because you caught lying shorty. Forbes would not waste their time putting out an entire spread on you juicing your sales numbers." Another said, "Kylie Jenner needs to know none of us give a F**K about how much money she makes. Especially right now."
Slamming her cosmetics company, one said, "You are a pale face white girl, why is your foundation so dark, why so much bronzer??? You will never have that black girl magical golden roasted skin. Please contribute something original to society don't be a copy and imitation all your life. witcho funny looking self." Another even went on to say, "We don’t care. There’s more important things happening in the world rn and all you can talk about is your “successful business” wow! Your daughter is BLACK speak up for HER please."
Calling her out on how she didn't have an answer, one fan posted, "Kylie Jenner only got on Twitter to drag people for talking about her false billionaire title and nothing else. No statement no nothing about what’s really going on while profiting off on black culture and stealing from black creators all these years."
