Kyle Chrisley threatened to be 'escorted out' if tried to meet 'Chrisley Knows Best' star Todd Chrisley
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Kyle Chrisley, the son of Todd Chrisley, is speaking out about the tension in his family. Kyle claims he hasn't spoken to his well-known father and 'Chrisley Knows Best' star in over a year in a recent interview with InTouch.
He also claims he was prevented from going to his most recent appeal hearing. Followers of the Chrisley family will remember that following their convictions for tax evasion and bank fraud, Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley received sentences of 12 and 7 years in jail, respectively.
Since then, their sentences have been lowered to 10 and 5 years. Even though he freely says he doesn't want anything to do with the reality star, Kyle, who has had his own run-ins with the police, told the publication he was worried about his dad being in jail.
"Honestly, I haven't spoken to my dad in over a year," Kyle swore.
"I don't really know why, but he hasn't responded to my emails, and he doesn’t call. I was actually going to attend the hearing, but I was told my dad did not want me there. I believe someone even said they would have me 'escorted out' if I showed up."
Kyle said he didn't know about his father's tense relationship and didn't understand why Todd severed their contact when he thought they had made amends.
"We did reconcile. I moved to Tennessee in 2019, and from then up until he went to prison, we spoke daily, we would meet up for lunch, we spent holidays together... we were fine," he revealed.
After Todd was sent to prison, Kyle even paid him a couple of visits.
"After he went to prison, we would email, and I think I was able to visit him twice. I'm not sure what happened for him to stop contact a year ago, but after I was told not to attend the hearing, he actually removed me ... from his approved contact list," he said.
"I couldn't tell you what his reasons are."
Kyle claimed that even though he and his father are no longer on speaking terms, he still supports them both.
"Hopefully their appeal is granted, and he doesn't have to deal with it much longer," Kyle said to InTouch.
Kyle Chrisley shares Father's Day tribute for Todd Chrisley despite estrangement
Despite their strained relationship, Kyle isn't letting it stop him from telling Todd how much he still loves him. On June 16, which was Father's Day this past weekend, Kyle posted a picture of Todd holding him as a newborn on his Instagram Stories.
An emotive message that discussed their relationship's present status was posted with the photo. According to a Reddit screenshot, the tribute started, "Happy Father's Day Todd Chrisley."
"Even though you won't talk to me... I miss your 'goodnight I love you son' texts more than you know. If only things were different..."
Over the years, Kyle and Todd's relationship has seen many ups and downs. Kyle's stint as a series regular on his family's 'Chrisley Knows Best' began in the first season, despite his history of substance misuse.
Due to his difficulties, Todd and his wife Julie ended up taking up the role of Chloe Chrisley's formal guardianship when she turned eleven. Chloe, on the other hand, has been cared for by Kyle's sister Savannah Chrisley, along with her brother Grayson Chrisley, while Todd and Julie are imprisoned for fraud and tax evasion.
Kyle was on speaking terms with Todd until he went to jail in January 2023, but the two have since begun another phase of estrangement.
Kyle Chrisley demands visitation rights to meet daughter Chloe Chrisley
In addition, Kyle says he hasn't been able to see his 11-year-old daughter Chloe, who is being raised by his half-sister Savannah, and he doesn't communicate with his stepmother.
"No, I do not get visits," he shared.
"When my dad was preparing to leave, I actually requested a legal visitation schedule, but he declined to set one up. He told me I would need to go through Savannah to see Chloe. I haven't directly asked Savannah for a visit, however, I've mentioned wanting to see her to other family members and the message has been relayed to me that I will 'never get my hands on Chloe.'"
"I know I have a past, but don't we all? I try very hard to be a better person than I was the day before. Not to mention I've been raising my other two children for the last five years with no issues," Kyle said, bringing up his troubled history, which includes incarceration for aggravated assault.
"The whole situation is sad, our whole family is really just torn apart, and I hate that it's become this way."

Savannah Chrisley claims there has been 'resentment' from Kyle Chrisley
Savannah revealed the family's alienation from Kyle and their sister Lindsie Chrisley during an October 2023 interview on the 'Oldish' podcast. "My two oldest siblings are from my dad’s first marriage [with Teresa Terry]," Savannah described.
"Over the years, I feel like there’s been a lot of anger and resentment just over the fact that my parents were together [and] theirs weren't."
Even though the family has a distant relationship with Lindsie and Kyle, their grandma, Nanny Faye Chrisley, maintains communication with them both. Actually, Nanny Faye talked about keeping in touch with Kyle during a prior appearance on Lindsie's 'The Southern Tea' podcast, saying that she will speak "to him at least once or twice a day."
"He comes and eats. We get together. He comes, we grill out hamburgers. Him and [his wife] Ashleigh."
Regarding their hangouts, she said, "The kids come, and the door is always open."
"He kept my dog this weekend. I met him. We went to the Waffle House. He hugged me, and this morning, he calls me at 5:30 because he knows I'm up, and we talk."
Nanny Faye continued, "Even when he works all night long, sometimes he'll call me at 1 or 2 in the morning and say, 'Nanny, you asleep?' Sometimes I am. Sometimes I'm not, but we always talk."
