LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Grayson Chrisley is finding it hard to come to terms with his parent's imprisonment. In a podcast ‘Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley,’ hosted by his sister, he admitted that their arrest has made him ‘bitter.’ “To me, it’s worse than them dying. Because they’re here, but they’re not here. So it’s just time that’s being wasted. I’m saying, like, if they died, there’s no possibility of you getting any more time with them. So it’s over," he said.

While struggling with his emotions, Grayson stated, “There is always going to be a part of you that is bitter. There’s no way around it. It’s gonna suck for as long as they’re there.” The celeb couple Julie and Todd were sent to prison for a combined 19 years on the counts of fraud and tax evasion in November 2022. His father is serving his 12-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in January.

'Our schedules don’t align'

Meanwhile, Julie, 50, is doing her time of seven years at Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison Camp Marianna in Florida. The latter is set to serve another 16 months of probation time after being released. “Our schedules don’t align. And then you don’t see one of them for three or four weeks, and then you’re struggling,” Grayson explained about not thinking too much ahead. “I struggle going back to back weeks because I’m in that mood … and then I go and start it all over again. You never really get out of it," he said.

The teenager recently turned 17, and also talked about not having parents around him, ‘Well, it sucked. It wasn’t the greatest birthday I’ve ever had. I didn’t expect it to be, though, because, like, mom and dad aren’t there. So yeah, it kind of sucked.”

'My parents are missing out on that'

Meanwhile, Grayson's sister Savannah felt ‘renewed’ after visiting Todd and Julie in prison recently. She is given the responsibility of primary carer for her brother Grayson and their 10-year-old niece, Chloe, reports PageSix.

In January, the sister shared that her younger brother had a ‘breakdown’ after their parents were imprisoned. “Grayson is 16 years old, [and] there’s so much growth going on with him right now, and it breaks my heart to know that my parents are missing out on that.”
