'The Masked Singer' Season 11: Afghan Hound mask is Savannah Chrisley, reality star loses at first smackdown to Gumball
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the Wizard of Oz-themed second episode of 'The Masked Singer's Season 11, it was revealed that Afghan Hound was actually reality star Savannah Chrisley. In a notable turn of events, the season introduced its first smackdown round, where Gumball unexpectedly found itself facing off against Afghan Hound, where they sang "Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead" together. However, despite her efforts, the Afghan Hound faced elimination.
However, the Afghan Hound didn't harbor any regrets about the outcome. While she may have lost the battle, the Afghan Hound remained gracious in defeat, "I know singing is not for me, I don’t know what a note is, nor do I know what rhythm is, but it was a good experience!" Chrisley said.
During 'The Wizard of Oz Night' episode, the show kicked off with a stunning performance by previous 'Masked Singer' winner LeAnn Rimes, who mesmerized the audience with her rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' As the night progressed, Afghan Hound was unfortunately voted out, narrowing down the competition. This left Gumball, Miss Cleocatra, and Beets to advance to the next round, where they would continue to vie for the title of the masked singer.
Savannah Chrisley reveals about parents' legal issue as Afghan Hound
In her pre-taped package as Afghan Hound, Chrisley hinted at her family's challenges and how they affected her personally, saying, "Every single day, I tell myself to be brave. When I was young, I would dream what life could be like over the rainbow. And for my family and me, the dreams we dared to dream came true. Best of all, we were together. Until recently."
She added, "Suddenly, it was like our whole house came crashing down. And I found myself alone, lost, and left to pick up the pieces. But I had to keep going and learn to laugh through the pain. I know I’m not a good singer, but I’m here to put on a fun performance and just have a great time. I want to make my family smile and laugh from afar.”
Savannah Chrisley's parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, faced legal troubles when they were convicted of tax evasion and defrauding community banks. The charges stemmed from allegations that they evaded taxes and obtained fraudulent loans totaling over $30 million. These legal issues resulted in Todd and Julie being sentenced to prison.
